The Bulbasaur Race [Part 2]

11 I like it!

Hi there, people. I'd like to say something, please have a read.

My apologies if I come over as rude, I don't intend to, but this has been bothering me for quite a while. If you look at the rules of the game it clearly says:

  • Try to keep conversation flowing between posts - all posts must be relevant to Pokémon as this is Pokémon Trivia!

...and as you may have noticed, there is absolutely no flowing conversation here lately and I miss the times where we could have a good chat in these kind of games. Over the last weeks, I feel I've constantly brought up new topics and when that didn't work I focused more on trying to engage in conversation with people, which didn't seem to work either. I think I've even literally reminded you to keep a flowing conversation going on, but when I look at the above three posts for example, there's is literally nothing said there and to be honest I'm getting really tired of this. I can understand a conversation to die down on its moments, but I sometimes have the feeling some of you don't even take any effort to follow the rules (or haven't even read them to begin with). This game is primary meant to be a chat and if you're not into that, no worries, there are comparable games without chat, such as The Great Pokémon Battle and Rate the Pokémon above you. So a long story short: try to engage in the conversation, it makes this game a lot more fun!

Okay, thanks for reading, I hope you understand.

I like Gyarados, it's a shame it's not a dragon type though, but it's really strong when you just evolved your Karp.

Let's start with a simple topic, shall we? What are your favorite locations in the Pokémon world? (This can be towns, routes, mountains, you name it.)

While I understand that it's difficult to sustain a flowing conversation, I can definitely see your point. As much as I'd also love for this thread to be a fun place to chat like before, we can't really do anything to enforce a conversation here (especially since the rules say "try"), but what we CAN do is gently encourage it! I know this is what you've been doing up until now, and I very greatly appreciate it, Lycan. I'm sorry I haven't been putting as much effort into this thread as I used to, but I admire your courage for bringing this up, and thank you so much for not giving up on this thread.

Hmm, this one is a toughie! I love locations with vivid geography (especially in Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos), but the only ones I can think of right now are Undella Town, Snowbelle City, and Kalos Route 19. It has been a pretty long time since I've actually played the games, which makes things harder to remember. :/

You're right that the newer games have more beautiful locations with more modern spriting/3D models. Kanto was very bland, there wasn't much special too see either, besides the ghost tower in Lavender Town.

My favorite locations are those that aren't very straight-forward to visit and add a third dimension to the game, like the underwater routes and soaring in the sky in Hoenn and the Underground in Sinnoh. I spent a lot of time in Diamond looking for fossils and evolution stones there, but constantly ended up with what felt like millions of heart scales and hard stones.
If I have to pick a location on ground level I'd say the Ruins of Alph, a mysterious place filled with puzzles and hidden entrances.

You literally just reminded me of the Marine Tube from Unova, as well as a majority of the bridges from that region (especially the Skyarrow Bridge <3).

As for the Ruins of Alph, I remember how much that place fascinated (and scared) me when I was a kid, because I had no clue what to expect. I didn't know the limitations of the game, so I always thought that some crazy stuff would happen if I kept walking around and exploring it. :P

That would be Lapras, Korpiklaani. And thanks for pointing out the latest flaws with this thread Lycan, it's sad when you don't get an active conversation going.

Lapras is...there. I don't have anything against it. "Riding on Lapras", one of the Japanese ending songs from the Orange Islands season, can be adorable at times. It's Kasumi [Misty] singing!

Sinnoh's Underground is the main reason why I have so many hours in my Pearl game. I really hope they bring something like that back in any future game.

Aside from the Underground, I was always a fan of Skyarrow Bridge in Unova. I remember seeing that location the first time that I played B/W, and just being amazed by the change in perspectives and just how "big" it made the world seem.

Whoa, I never knew that Misty sang an ending until now! I was only aware that May sang the final AG ending, and Ash sings a ton of the openings haha.

Oh, and that one ending about Brock ("Takeshi's Paradise," I think), which was used as a recurring joke. I'm honestly surprised that even 4Kids preserved it, because, well... 4Kids gets rid of a lot. xD

14 Lapras will def be a save, one of my faves for this gen

As for the topic, I like Lumiose, there's a lot to do

I've always loved the look and feel of Lumiose City, but I just keep getting lost there! I don't think there are many other locations in the Pokémon world where you can get lost so easily, except for maybe the Safari Zones. (Or places that are designed to be like mazes, which I can't seem to recall at the moment.)
