Thus far, I can recall getting only 2 random encounter legitimate shinies,
a poochyena (first catch ever with sis' help on rt.101, sapphire, transferred to diamond)
and a wingull (Mt.Pyre sea route, sapphire, last catch on the game, lost due to new game).
There's so much alpha and omega in this... I love coincidences :P

Tpbm cancelled an evolution before. It doesn't what the reason was-- maybe you stopped Kirlia from evolving into Gardevoir cuz you wanted a Gallade instead. Perhaps you just liked the pre-evolution better, picking Chansey over Blissey. Or you could have just been waiting to learn a move...
