[Event] The PokeCommunity Game-Along V: The Gaming Strikes Back

Does Bomb Rush Cyberfunk count as action-adventure?

Finished Luigi's Mansion! Got the A rank house at the end as usual, though my gameplay wasn't up to my usual standard. Too many silver frames... >.> Made me wish I'd have done the 3DS remake instead lol. :p

Super excited for this theme! I'm very spoiled for choice this month so I gotta right my wrong from last month and definitely clear something. The first thing that caught my eye was ANNO: Mutationem, since it's been on my wishlist for a while, and described as an action-adventure in its Steam store page. If for some reason I don't seem to vibe with it, there's plenty of other options, so I'm sure this month won't take me long.

I've been having some shoulder pains these past few weeks meaning I'm spending a lot less time at my computer and ANNO doesn't seem to be as likely, would Astro Bot work as a substitution? It's definitely defined as a 3D platformer before anything else, but action-adventure is such a wide genre that I figure it could probably include it?

That one is very much defined by platforming I feel. So I'd say no.

I beat Bomb Rush Cyberfunk tonight. I'll have a game journal entry after finishing up the postgame, so I'm counting it as done for the purpose of this year's game along.

EDIT: Postgame's done as well, and I have a game journal entry now.

Forgot to mention, but thanks again for another year of fun prompts! This remains one of the things I look forward to most all year round. \o/

Uhhh... okay I gotta be honest, Anno Mutationem really didn't hold my interest. I played it for 2 and a half hours if that contributes anything, but I don't see myself ever completing it in the future. My loss, though I do feel bad about being all "I'm so excited to join!" at the beginning of the year and then not completing games for like three of the twelve months...

For the months where I did complete games though, this was a lot of fun! Thank you for hosting another one of these and I'm super glad I could join in! Getting a new prompt each month was exciting and it definitely pushed me to play some stuff I kept saying "I'll do it eventually" like Sly and Space Channel 5.

My final list of games, all beaten prior to their deadlines:

January (Free Choice): Rebel Galaxy Outlaw*
February (Short Game): Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards
March (Stealth): Heat Signature**
April (Visual Novel): Suzerain
May (Pixel Art): Sonic the Hedgehog 2***
June (RNG): Slay the Spire
July (Fighting Game): Super Smash Bros 64***
August (Puzzle): Pandora's Box***
September (JRPG): Dragon Quest II***
October (Horror): Doom 3 [2004 version]
November (Villain Protagonist): Carrion
December (Action-Adventure): Bomb Rush Cyberfunk

*This game was started a few days before January
**This was a replay of a game I had beaten before the challenge
***I had played these games before the challenge, but not beaten them

Good news then, it'll be back next year too.
