Trainer tips. You see them in every game as signs throughout the regions, giving some game hints to the beginning player. What do you think of them? Were they useful to you?

I like that they are in the games. I personally have never used them, but I can see how useful they can be for new players.

I kinda wonder, what the player character thinks, when reading them. Maybe something like "What is a Start Menu and can you catch it with a Poke Ball?"?

I never really bothered reading them, even when I was a little kid and I got my first Pokemon version. Then again, back then everything was kinda self-explanatory...

I'll read them just because they're there and I feel like I need to read everything that's around in a game. Most of them are just like "yeah I knew that already", or "oh yeah, whatever"; I'm not sure if I've ever come across one that was actually helpful to me.

But I'll still read them because I must read all the signs.

They were useful to me when I was young. But it became a habit for me to talk to every NPCs and check every sign posts, so yeah I do check them. :)

I... don't know if I've ever even paid attention to them, to be completely honest. I probably did when I FIRST played the series, waaay back with Silver/Gold... but even then I can't be certain.

I don't pay attention to such signs i just move forward in the game, they are of no use for me, and also these tips are so childish to me one of them is this: "Any Pokémon that takes part in battle, however short, earns EXP!" and after that i said what the heck is this?

I recall when I used to read those signs a lot, but now that I know about what they say I don't really pay attention to them anymore.

I always read the signs, however trainer tips were rarely useful to me. The only thing I've learned thanks to them is you can prevent an evolution by pressing B. Oh, and there's the one in Kanto that says there's an item hidden next to it, that one was useful too.

They're not that useful but I still check every single one just in case! I'm not sure if you do in Gen 6 but in Gen 5 you got a Medal for checking however many, which is neat.

They're no longer useful to me since I'm an experienced player. Though I do stop and read them from time to time just for kicks. I know I ran into one the other day on Route 8 in X&Y and it's like "I see! You can use the move Rock Smash!"

Starting out they're helpful and I can totally understand how they would be useful to new players, but for me I tend to overlook them.

I think they're super useful for new players, to know how to play, etc! I don't need them anymore but I always check them, I don't know why! I have that feeling " I have to check everything readeble, every NPC, every board" and then I'm forced to go and check them! So yeah, I check them!

I thought it was a great idea that Trainer Tips were posted in-game for newbies to read. However, when I was brand new to Pokémon, I rarely followed these tips, often to the point of being ignorant of them completely (when I frequently attempted to capture other Trainers' Pokémon.)

I used to when I was starting out playing pokemon because you know, it was helpful to learn everything you can about the game and actually how to play it but eh, when I read one nowadays, it's usually the same stuff, so, I don't give them much of a second thought anymore. But I still like them, and they're definitely helpful from time to time!

They're obviously not too necessary nowadays but it's clear that they know newer players are abound nowadays. But in XY it was a little odd that there was a sign that does nothing but congratulate you on figuring out how to use Rock Smash =P
