Today's the day. Results aren't out yet obviously (it's 10 something AM EST atm) and I imagine we won't know them tomorrow morning, but here's a thread for it. Post any final thoughts you have, any predictions etc. Then we can talk about the results when we have that too.

    My final predictions:

    Electoral College:
    Spoiler:

    Senate:
    Spoiler:

House: 232 Democratic seats, 203 Republican seats.

As for my non-prediction thoughts on the election, I endorse Kamala Harris, and encourage everyone who can vote, but hasn't yet, to turn out today to vote for her.

I'm currently on my phone and won't be able to make a prediction map before the first set of results is released at 7PM EST, but I agree with yours except I think GA, AZ and NC will go for Trump rather then Harris.

As for my general thoughts, I'm absolutely terrified about what Trump could do if he returns to the white house (eg: Project 2025), and I hope Harris will finally be able to break the glass ceiling and become the first female president. I'm pretty upset about just barely not being old enough to vote (I turn 18 in February) this time around. But I suppose there has to be a line drawn somewhere and I just had the misfortune of being on the wrong side of it; at least I live in a very safe state where my hypothetical vote wouldn't really matter or alter the inevitable result instead of being in like Pennsylvania.

I voted early. I still had to drive my family to the polling place today.

It was surprisingly not busy. Either low voter turnout here or 2:00 PM isn't a core hour.

Expects Harris to win. Guesses Republicans to take control of the Senate (at least). Put up 23 Democratic senator seats for re-election versus only 11 Republican senator seats. Admittedly depends on how close those seats were.

Started feeling way more stressed since results started coming in. Realizes plenty of votes have to come in. Still hopes for better.

Voted maybe a month ago via absentee voting, also. Appreciates that being an option here (Michigan). Never waited very long in line in any election. Avoids going anywhere this way.

I feel like it's going to be close, but I have my fingers crossed for all you American's that Harris wins. Neither you guys or the rest of the world needs to deal with the fallout of another Trump presidency.

I figured things could go either way, so I'm not really all that surprised Trump won.

The fact that the Democrats couldn't (easily) beat a guy who is such an obvious narcissistic psychopathic fascist shows though both how deeply fucked up the United States has always been (if that somehow wasn't clear to everyone already) and how terribly unappealing the Dems are. (before anyone gets stupid ideas, I did not vote for Trump or any GOP candidate and you will find me dead before you find me ever voting Republican)

Still waiting on some of the House results, though if the Dems do retain a majority in there, it's probably going to be a smaller majority than before.

Given Trump's habit of outperforming his polling, the fact Harris wasn't even leading as much as Clinton in '16 did was a blatant warning sign.
