    It's often said that either pets tend to resemble their owners, or that owners tend to pick pets that remind them most of themselves. Whatever the truth is, Pokémon has not failed to pick up on this tendency. Many Trainers, either intentionally (e.g. the PokéManiacs, Crasher Wake, Fantina, most Pokémon Conquest characters) or unintentionally (e.g. Wally and the Ralts family, Zisu with her Lopunny ponytails, Ingo in PLA with his Chandelure rather tragically, Morty and Hisuian Typhlosion in a roundabout way), resemble one of their Pokémon, most commonly their signature one - or at least a Pokémon of the type they identify with.

    My question is, have you picked up on any similarities between you and one of your favourite Pokémon? For those of you who have OC avatars or self-inserts, do you play this resemblance up when picturing your avatar/character, or do you just let it happen naturally?
     
    Nah, lol. Irl the only thing a Sylveon and I have in common is empathy and conflict resolution, I guess? But I've had plenty of pastel pink/blue/white in my wardrobe since before Sylveon existed, so I don't think I've intentionally done anything to make myself more Sylveon-esque irl. Though one day I will put together a proper Sylveon cosplay!

    But you better believe I play it up online, haha. It's fun! n_n; In fact, you can read all about this Sylveon in the Daily!
     
    My TrainerSona's hair is greenish and Leafeon—one of my aesthetic favorites—has green "hair." My TrainerSona's hair wasn't actually meant to be as green as it appears in my avatar (it was originally meant to look like this), but I've come to embrace it. He doesn't have a Leafeon, but I have been tempted to evolve his grey Eevee (a representation of my cat, Ciel) into one since I've found a lot of plant fossils here. Haven't been able to bring myself to do it though since Leafeon's more like a Balinese/Javanese cat.

    The green shade of his hair is also close to the shade associated with the Bug-typing. I'm pretty into insects IRL (especially moths) and at least 2 Bug-types are in my top 10 (neither of them are green though).
     
    Starmie is my favorite Pokémon, but I can't think of anything that we have in common and I definitely don't look like a starfish with a pretty gemstone. However, Reshiram is my favorite legendary and, while we don't look alike, we both definitely both represent the truth!
     
    What does uncatty mean? Do you mean uncanny?

    But, I don't think I'm like Treecko or Sneasel. I don't go into bird's nest and steal trees, and Treecko is a lot cooler than I am, lol.

    "Uncatty resemblance" is a term that refers to the saying that pets resemble their owners. It's essentially a pun based on the phrase "uncanny resemblance," but uses the word "uncatty" because it refers to pets.

    To answer this question again, Gardevoir is another one of my all-time favorites. Although we don't look alike, we are very similar in other ways, such as our mannerisms.
     
    My actual favorite is Flareon - but I wouldn't say I resemble it too much. I don't often wear orange like its fur, and don't wear any faux fur to resemble a fluffy animal anyway. But if you were to talk about the Flareon from (I believe) the eeveelution/Sylveon special episode...

    For favorites I have because they are very similar to me, it would be Diancie. I find the way she acts in her movie to be close to my own personality. Nice but a little reserved and inexperienced with life.
     
    I play as a Tank-class character in most PvE multiplayer titles, so I'm like a Bastiodon in that respect? idk xD;

    Although one of my favourite Pokemon is Meloetta, and I'm very music-focused when it comes to video games in particular: I will overlook a lot for good audio, and a game without good audio immediately becomes a lesser game to me. I find bad music in games to be VERY offensive. I can't really lose myself in an atmosphere if there isn't background music to support that, so yeah.

    Otherwise...a lot of my favourite Pokemon are ghost-types. I'm dead inside. Hahahahaha. Ha.
