    Vote on your Favorite Protagonist!​


    Hello and welcome to a new multi-platform event, that will last several weeks!

    In this event, your objective is to vote for your favorite Pokémon protagonist across a series of polls. To begin, we will start by region*, and see who is the favourite protagonist from each area**. Afterwards, the winner will form a tournament round, where we will do 4 sets of up to 4*** winners, and then take the top two options from there into 2 sets of four, then a final poll.

    Where can I vote?


    You can vote for the first set of people in this thread at the top - the Kanto nominees! You can also vote on our social media pages: Twitter (will use its own poll system), Bluesky (a Google poll), Instagram (a Google poll) and Facebook (a Google poll). Yes, it's better to not go around voting multiple times, but we won't be monitoring things that closely. But don't cheat, that's just boring. This means the winner of each poll will be from all polls (here, Twitter, Google poll) added together, not per platform.

    Polls will run roughly 4 days, and be posted every week as a new thread (or on social media, as a new post). We may speed things up for the spin-off regions.

    Meanwhile, share some propaganda for your pick each week! Take about why you're voting for your character, and make fun of the others (respectfully, of course). We'll also use the results and input for a Daily article summarising the whole event once it ends.

    * Hisui will be treated as separate to Sinnoh.
    ** Spinoff games will also be considered! Orre will feature, while we will also consider the Ranger games' regions separately, but lump the Snap/New Snap regions (and hence protagonists) together.
    *** We may see what the Legends: Z-A protags look like before we hit the tournament phase... pending TPC(i). If so, we'll do a poll on them! Otherwise, one set of 4 polls will have less options... Or we can consider a second chance for the losing protag with the most amount of votes!

    Rules

    1. No Trolling - This includes things like voting on behalf of other users, inputting joke responses in the Google Forms, using bots or creating alt accounts to try and game the voting system, and other dishonest activities. Please don't do that stuff.
    2. Have Fun - We all love Pokémon, and we hope that you derive enjoyment and have a good time with this event!

    Previous Polls


    Kanto: Red, in a narrow win over Leaf! Chase and Elaine were well behind.
    Johto: Kris, in another narrow win over Gold! In fact, Gold won on the forums, but not in the other two platforms. Lyra was a distant third.
    Hoenn: May, in the first clear victory in these series of polls. Brendan and his hat were no match.
    Sinnoh: Dawn, who basically murdered poor Lucas in the polls.
    Unova: Hilda, in a very narrow victory over Rosa (only 2 votes as the difference). This time third place had a respectable turnout (Hilbert), while Nate did okay but was comfortably fourth.
    Orre: Wes won out - Michael got some votes especially on Twitter, but couldn't keep up with the cool teen.
    Kalos (XY): Serena. It was even on Twitter, but everywhere else, especially on the forums, she ran out comfortably.
    Alola: Selene won on each poll convincingly. Chicken hat too powerful!
    Galar: Gloria was the victor... over Victor. Every poll was won.
    Fiore (Ranger 1): Solana won by a couple votes, after the polls all together were tied! Lunick was so close there.
    Almia (Ranger 2): Kellyn wins, and breaks the streak of female protagonists winning!
    Oblivia (Ranger 3): Summer won across all polls - close on Twitter, but on the forums pretty one-sided.
    Hisui: Akari won with a bit over twice the number of votes overall.
    Paldea: Juliana won by a similar amount over Julian.
    Snap games: Todd Snap wins! The OG won out over two others with no obvious name available.

    Lastly... this is as far as I can tell the final poll to make of Pokemon game protags (humans, anyway - sorry PMD but that'd be way too much and also hard to compare with). Let me know if there's a set overlooked however!

    In addition to Ransei's nameless protagonists, which Palamon already mentioned, there's also the Battle Revolution rental pass characters, Mark and Mint from TCG GB2, and Scottie and Bettie from Masters EX. I don't care much about the latter pairs, but I'd be very sad to skip the first. There are six Battle Revolution characters with very different aesthetics, and it's also the series' first foray into trainer customization. I'm very curious to see what the forum would pick.
     
    I... Am not really sure here. Neither of them stand out too much for me, and I don't have any attachment to them, either. Will go with the guy this time, cause his style is 'okay'.

    Okay yeah good shouts. Conquest is in fact a game that exists, even outside Japan, just with very little marketting and seemingly killing any hopes of an FE crossover that was rumoured back in the day, alas. But yes, let's do that.

    PBR I guess can be covered, although I'd like to do a bit more digging into those being player characters rather than a default rental team character. The latter feels a bit different. Are there 6 characters too? That's more . Put this in the 'more research' pile for me I suppose. I only saw James Turner concept art for two such characters... sources on there being six please? [EDIT: So the four other characters are via unlocked passes, i.e. not immediately available. I'd only count Cyndy and Nate - lmao another Nate - as the protags of PBR here.]

    Masters EX is a good call, I think that can be a poll between those two default character designs.

    TCG GB2... well, we're talking a game that never released outside of Japan. A very deep cut, and only has (from my quick reading) a new protag added. But I'll muse on this - but this if it gets a poll wouldn't be a long running one at all.

    Bonus: There is art of possible protags for Champions... but we don't have anything else for them, not even names or 3D models it appears, nor text saying they are protags of the battle sim game to be released 'sometime'. They may have to be left off given the lack of confirmation or info.

    There's also Pokken Tournament, but the protagonists are completely unnamed here, and the default Go Avatars. But, I don't think these should be considered for polls as they are not named.

    Beyond that there's: The Battrio avatars, but the arcade games do not exist outside of Japan, and the unnamed Typing Adventure protagonists (see the bottom of the gallery), but that's another game that never released in the united states. There is also No high res art of them either, so a poll for typing adventure feels pointless.
     
    While their designs and outfits are deliberately similar, there are differences between the two. And in my opinion, I feel Paxton wears his version of the outfit better than Harmony does hers.

    Paxton wins! One vote in it here, as well as on the google form (just much less votes :v), while on Twitter Paxton won by 7 votes.

    As for next polls... the current thinking is 4 sets of 2-day long polls for Conquest, PBR, TCG GB2, and Masters EX. That should then take us to 20 winners total, a nice round number divisible by 4 that makes it easier to work with for knockouts. Anyone else is either too vague/lacking info/images or just too niche to consider imo.
