1. Was PokéCommunity your first forum?
Haha no. My first forum was way back in the 90s (1998-99 maybe?), it was the CBBC Newsround Messageboard. I remember having to ask what " :) " meant, because to me it was just colon-bracket. Dial-up FTW. :D
2. Have you been a part of other forums or online communities before you found your way here?
I generally find it difficult to actively belong to more than one forum at a time... I don't know why. When I first hit secondary school I started a forum so students could interact with each other called "blah" (original name I know), and when that crashed and burned I went to the forum belonging to the assistant admin, "Accel - The Car Forum". I had (and still have) no idea about cars, but it was a nice community albeit small.
After that I got into Doctor Who roleplaying on a site called Vote Saxon (votesaxon.co.uk), which after three years I graduated to admin ^^ . But I was kicked out because I had to audacity to negatively critisise an episode of Doctor Who once and it kinda when downhill from there (I was a teenager... you know the rest :P ). I eventually made the real switch to PC after I got kicked, and it was so much better.
I'm currently on Bulbapedia. I've written a few articles (my particular favourite is the one on
Pikachu's clone from the first movie and special, that was fun to write), but I'm not a huge part of the community there - I may be mistaken, but my general impression of Bulba is that they're a little full of themselves...
3. Have you been (or are you currently) on non-pokémon forums?
Actually, this is my first dedicated Pokémon forum (though not website), so yes, every other forum I've ever belonged to was non-Pokémon. Though that didn't stop me being a fan. :D
4. What has made you stay at PokéCommunity?
Of all the forums I've belonged to, this has been the best one. It's welcoming, fun, constantly active and everyone doesn't...
hate each other (if you know what I mean by that). I'm not going to pretend it's perfect (it's not - there are some issues and spats as with any large group of people), but I think the community is the most developed and most diverse of all the Pokémon forums. It's the longest I've ever actively belonged to a forum. It's just brilliant. ^^
