But I digress. PC, what is the longest you have avoided using the internet consecutively in the past maybe 5 years? Or perhaps since you've been on the internet, if you haven't been around for five years! Feel free to state reasons, whether it was voluntary or involuntary, etc.

I've realised just how UNCLEAN I am. My longest run without any form of any internet usage would have been about 4 years ago, where I went three days without any usage at all. That sounds awful, I know. However, I have also been a week without using it much in the most recent week for what could be a personal record low!(excluding using my phone for twitter/the odd bit of lurking here and there, but still!)

tl;dr: let's hear just how bad everyone is and if it makes me feel better or worse about this.

About a week. When I went to Ecuador on vacation I had no internet or phone service to use my online internet. This was back in 2010. So all I had was Pokemon Platinum to keep me company lol.

I felt like I was missing out on so much stuff on Youtube.

Longest time without internet? I'm not sure, but I remember not being able to use internet for 3 whole days back in August because I was in hospital having an operation to remove a boil that was present on my right breast and I ended up staying longer than expected due to inflammation. Said boils usually spawn due to a terrible skin condition that I have.

In fact, that month alone this year saw my activity not as good as usual because my computer died to overheating and as a result had to split internet with my mother which is not easy due to running a lot of fanclubs on Facebook.

I didn't have internet in my new place in June for like 2 weeks. But I'm not sure if that counts because for a few of those days I went to McDonald's to use their free wifi and I always had my phone, but I didn't use it much because I don't really like using my phone hardcore for the internet.

For me it's probably 2 weeks every year because my grandma's place has no Internet and my parents refuse to buy her Internet because they hate me say that it's good not to have Internet for some time.

We had a bad hurricane a few years ago and our internet was out for like a week and was really hell.

In the last 5 years I haven't had any issues that lasted more than a couple days or so, but if you go back 6 years, there was a whole month where I had no internet because Comcast failed horribly at transferring it in a timely manner during a move. Needless to say I stopped using them after that.

    A year.

It didn't bother me too much, but I did get bored more often and easily. It's pretty crazy how much we rely on it, but that's what technological advances do.

In the past 5 years I've been without internet for 6 months while I was in training a few years ago.

I used to be without internet for several days/a week at a time when I visited my grandparents, as none of them had internet access. However, the situation has changed somewhat in the past few years (I got a phone with internet access, one grandmother got wifi, and I frankly just can't afford to be away from it for more than a day or so for school/work purposes, so I can't visit non-internet places for as long as I used to be able to). Aside from those stretches, I was without internet for a fairly long stretch a few years ago due to power outages. I did leave home at first to get internet access (had to check a college admissions decision), but after that, the roads were blocked off by fallen trees and downed power lines, so there wasn't much I could do about the situation.

7 days when I went to Cyprus this June. You had to pay for wifi and I was having too much fun to sit in a lobby and gorp at a phone.

In recent memory, involuntarily? Ten days...the first ten days of the year, in fact. The router died on the 1st of January, and we didn't get a new one until the 10th. Gods, I went insane.

I also took myself off the internet for all of May this year, just to prove to myself that I could. It wasn't actually that bad of a month - I cleared up a bit of my gaming backlog, did a lot of writing, and found time to do a few other things I'd wanted to for a long time. It's only when I'm deprived of my internet connection by circumstance that I suddenly find I need it to function properly...

Two years. From March 2006 to March 2008. We couldn't really afford it at the time.

I chose not to use it for a few months a while ago. Um idk the internet is really boring to me. I pretty much just go on here and then tumblr so I can see my layout. I use my phone for most internet things which is just twitter and instagram. Only time I enjoy it is to read facts or stories or something along those lines.
