What made you smile/happy today?

I was looking through some photos and found one a friend took of me with his Chow Chow. I immediately called him, having not spoken in a few years (for no particular reason). I'm really glad I did.

In Star Wars: The Old Republic I had gotten an 'Improved Speeder Piloting I' item in the five things I got from an Ultimate Cartel Pack, which gives the player's character who uses it the ability to pilot/ride speeders and mounts. Since my character who'd gotten it had already unlocked all five levels of that, and none of my of my other characters needed it either, I went to one of the starter worlds where two of the eight class stories begins to look for a new player who would be able to use it. I'd originally intended to sell it for 42 credits (which is ridiculously cheap and could be afforded by anyone), but when I offered it on the General Chat the person who was interested in it turned out to be a Free-To-Play player, whom the game doesn't allow to trade. Fortunately, I was able to use the in-game mailing system to send it to them, but of course because of some changes that had been made to the game (to improve the in-game economy) sending it to them cost 83 thousand-something credits, which is relatively expensive.

To be honest, although it ended up costing a wee bit to do that, I'm really glad I was able to do that. I remember when I had first starting playing the game as a Free-To-Play player, and didn't have all the special things I can access now- subscribers can unlock speeder piloting at level 10, whilst Free-To-Play players have to wait until level 20. This player was only level 11, so this is definitely going to be helping them.

Today I found out that an ex-colleague of mine (and the driver of my career change) was fired today at my old job. Apparently, even after I reported her multiple times of her rude, micromanaging behavior, she still kept at it six months later. While I wish her the best in her future success, it makes me happy that my old job doesn't feel toxic anymore, and she is no longer claiming ownership of our work.

It's one of those times where I feel like it's really exciting to be into the stuff I'm into. Riko Sakurauchi and Ruby Kurosawa both have their birthdays this week which means lots of people are posting really great fanart of both of them, Aqours has a big 3-day live performance going on which means lots of love and support is being shared online for my favourite idols, and Zombieland Saga just had a recent collab which not only means new official art for its characters in really pretty outfits, it also means that Zombieland Saga isn't being forgotten and social media is being flooded with undeniable evidence that people still care about the series and want to support it. We've been waiting years for a movie to come out and every day I'm reminded that other people want to see it and haven't given up on how much they love it is a day I'm happy. Right now is one of those moments where it feels really good to be an idol fan.

Tomorrow morning I am going to check out a 3PL because my work is gonna be storing some material there - and other than an hour or so drive, after I'm done my entire day is free to do whatever I want - which means a short work day. ٩(^◡^)۶

Today is Luke Skywalker's birthday!
