Why do you get up in the morning?

this is one of those questions that really force you to put your life into perspective

i suppose i wake up in the morning in order to make sure i can wake up happier in the future. i know right now my situation isnt perfect, but at least i'm making money that can help me improve the current less-than-desirable aspects of my life. so i wake up and go to work, and save the money i make. i wake up and work so that i can challenge myself and build confidence in my ability, ultimately improving my life in the future. i wake up and work so that i can secure more work at a later date to keep moving forward with this mindset. but to what end?

I have group chats I need to troll

Because I took the bad habit of waking up early (I had my alarm set to 5:50 am,
however the forsaken alarm clock keeps going back to noon on the 1st January 2009).
Besides, I'm not that much into staying in bed...
Writing about bad habits! Perhaps someone would like to write down some of
their quirks on the "what are your quirks" thread?

excellent question, everything is better in bed. it's comfy, you can sleep, you can do naughty stuff

lies i have studying to do and a thesis to work on

A few things
  • If I can't sleep any more, there's no reason to stay in bed
  • I need to shower and eat
  • I have my family to look after
  • And then there's the cats

i got up this morning to watch the new season of oitnb

After 5am, if I've woken up, that's it - I can't go back to sleep without feeling even worse once I wake up again, so I might as well get up. Hunger usually compels me to get out of bed too, and a general restlessness - my mind wanders, and I get bored. I'm also a morning person; I don't like doing things in the afternoon. If I have anything to do, I get it done before midday.

Aside from the obvious "because I have things to do", I happen to be at a point in my life where I welcome what each day offers. I'm excited to get more involved with my interests and hobbies and it's not all about just my job anymore. I'm in a relationship that's exciting and much better for me, I have healthier groups of friends, and I'm no longer in an All Consuming job.

I used to be so negative and hyper focused on why things made me unhappy, so this is a fun juncture to be at and I like to take advantage of the feeling. It makes putting up with the routine/mundane/stagnant things in life not so bad. I like getting up.
