/hugs you/ That was heart-warming I thought, and it is a beautiful home for this pint-sized family. I wouldn't mind a big vesion of the log house to stay in myself. He is one talented photographer! I would love to buy books of his work because his ideas are delightful, and he has such a good heart.
I have always liked collecting small pieces of furniture for dollhouses, and building things with legos ever since I was a little girl. My mother perhaps encouraged my love of miniatures by telling me that fairies. So I fashioned fairy-sized stick umbrellas and huts from rocks, teepees fron twigs, made tiny paved roads in the family garden with glass marbles, among other things I moulded from clay in case fairy folk ever stopped for a visit.
Seeing this lovely log cabin reminded me of some nostalgic moments from my childhood.
As you know I have a soft spot for animals too. I wasn't planning on bringing in any more pets home but, I might not have a choice because I think the cat nextdoor has adopted me. He's a real beauty, who I think might be a bombay. He has made himself at home in our garden, and comes to see me everyday. I call him Salem inspired by the cat from Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
My mom said he belonged to the nextdoor neighbors, but these people can't be serious about being his owner/parents. They never bring him inside their home, and provide zero form of shelter outside--he's just out in the street. He certainly doesn't have a nice log pile house :( I have never once seen them leave him food or water. The poor critter looked like he was starving so I started feeding him myself. I'd rather not involve animal control to pick him up, so maybe they will sell "their" cat to me? As I said, I have dogs and cats of my own and I wouldn't think of this if he looked like he was in a good home. But I would feel bad if something happened to Salem due to neglect, and I could potentially prevent that. So we'll see what happens.
George the Mouse and the Log Pile House would indeed be a brilliant children's book title! This entire story makes for a great book for kids. What were some of your favorite children's book growing up might I ask? I loved Shel Silverstein poems if you have ever heard of him. I loved fairytales, especially Hansel and Gretel. Then I was fan of a beautifully illustrated book called Fox. There's plenty more stories I could share if you are curious. :)
Hearing about the love and care you have raised 2 wild baby rats is wonderful. You saved their lives. I hope those two are enjoying their freedom back in the wild!
After hearing about everything you have been through this year my friend I think you need another hug because of such stress and extremes of change, the good and the bad. /gives 10 hugs/
I'm so sorrry to hear that your uncle's wife passed away. You have lost an aunt, and I can relate to that. I miss my own late Aunt Jo sometimes. I hope that you have good memories of her, and that she lived a good life, and is now free from any past hardship.
I am glad that your aunt's husband was not in the crossfire of the Darwin shooting, and that your family is safe. I am also relieved to hear that your grandmother pulled through. It's lucky when you can have your grandparent with you as an adult. I hope that all guys have many more happy years together. <3
I understand entirely that you needed a break. You are strong. With everything you had swirling around you still you did manage to come on here, and have stayed with us and continue to be our mod. Trivia hasn't lost its luster either. Y'all have built such a vibrant part of the forum.
Welcome back! I am thrilled to see you and Revise more. You guys take the award for my favorite screen couple here at PC. I am really happy for you two! He is really nice, as are you. I'm rooting for you guys and that meet up in the future!! You can do it!
