Grass-type Pokémon ~ October 16 - 24

Welcome to the Favorite Pokémon Tournament here in Pokémon Voting Polls, where we aim to determine who PokéCommunity’s favorite Pokémon is! This will be a grand undertaking that will span across a couple of months, where we will start with hundreds of Pokémon, in hopes to rank the most popular Pokémon in the eyes of you- the members of the PokéCommunity!
If you haven't already, please read through the rest of the Rules/FAQ below to catch up to speed with what this tournament is all about:

Spoiler:
  • Every week, there will be a new poll stickied at the top of PVP. Each thread will have a different elemental type, which will include a list of Pokémon to vote on.
  • You aren’t required to pick just one Pokémon- you can vote for as many as you like to ensure your favorites get through. The Pokémon with the most votes at the end of the week will face off against the other winning Pokémon in a final poll to crown the champion!
  • Not only will the winning Pokémon from each poll move on to the final vote, but they'll be featured in Pokémon Voting Polls' forum splash for a week.
  • In order to preserve space, we’ve grouped all of the applicable evolutions in a Pokémon family together. If a family rather than an individual were to win the tournament, we would hold one extra run-off poll to decide the most popular member of the family.
  • In the event of a tie at the end of the week, Brendino will have the tie-breaking vote.
  • Legendary Pokémon are not included in this round of voting. Don’t worry, though- they’ll be voted upon near the end of the tournament to round out the final number of candidates.
  • Furthermore, members who vote and post for a majority of weeks during the tournament will receive an emblem depicting the winning Pokémon!
  • If there are any questions that you need answered, feel free to leave a comment in this thread or send a VM to Brendino to get it sorted out.

Now that you know what the tournament is all about, what are you waiting for? Polls will remain open until October 24th, so get voting!

I voted for so many! I can't decide on just one. So, I picked some general favorites and any pokemon that was on my grass team. I've been waiting for this type to come around, now I get to see what everyone else likes.

I voted for all the Grass starters there, except Chikorita's line (because it's not as strong as the others) because I loved most of their designs. I also went with Leafeon because I love Eeveelutions.

I also voted for the Cottonee and Petilil lines because I love how cute they are and they have some useful abilities. And finally the Roselia line for being my all-time fave Grass Pokemon.
Gone forever for personal reasons.

I like a lot of Grass types but I only really like a few. Most of my favorites are based off of some of my favorite plants/fungi.

Amoonguss is one of my favorite Gen. 5 Pokémon. The clever Poké Ball pattern and fungus inspiration are a great combo. Lol at the weird circle mouth. I also like the family's name: Foongus Amoonguss.

Cacturne is also one of my favorite Grass types. One of the best designed Grass types and also has some interesting biology and habits. Their blood has evolved into sand and they hunt weary travelers in the desert at night.

Another one of my favorite Grass type Pokémon is Tropius. It's a very unique Pokémon with the sauropod/banana plant combo. The leaf wings are clever and it's shiny pallette is really nice. I also like the edible fruit growing on its neck.

Last but not least, Gogoat. I gotta give the new Generation some love this week. Gogoat has been really helpful with weakening wild Pokémon so I could catch them. I haven't restored the power in Lumiose City yet, but I imagine that riding them is a fun experience.

I'm quite a big fan of Whimsicott. It's one of the most gorgeous and cutest-looking Pokémon that I have managed to lay my eyes on. Its back is made out of fluff entirely, which is quite awesome! If you ever touched behind its back, you would fall asleep within only two to three minutes, as it's extremely soft. This little fellow is pretty good when it comes to battling as well. It's got the Prankster ability, which is something that very few Pokémon have access to. With Prankster, this Pokémon is able to always strike first when using non-damaging moves, such as Encore, Stun Spore, Leech Seed, Memento, and Taunt. These moves come in very handy when battling competitively, as they help to stall your opponents and buy you some time. :)

I also like Gogoat. It looks very fierce, and always ready to get into a fight. It's base Attack stat is over a hundred, which is a lot. Along with its high Attack, it's got a ton of physical-based moves in its arsenal that it can take full advantage of, such as Razor Leaf, Earthquake, Double-Edge, Leaf Blade, Horn Leech, Take Down, and Seed Bomb. Its defenses may not be that great, but it does have a big amount of HP though, which sort of makes up for it. Also, I love how you're able to ride this Pokémon. There's, of course, a bunch of other Pokémon that you can ride, but this has gotta be one of the fastest (and safest).

Move over. I picked the Chikorita/Bayleef/Meganium line. Yeah, they may suck competitively, but they're still Pokemon! I grew up with this starter line and it's been my favorite since the day I first played GSC. They are in charge of healing others with their enticing aroma, and they're so adorable!
Such a hard type to vote for because there are so many amazing Grass Pokemon out there and more and more are being introduced this gen. However I eventually had to decide on who I was going to cast my votes for and they go to the Treecko and Budew lines. Treecko is my favorite Grass starter of all time because of how cool and collected he is for a Pokemon. He evolves into 2 of the best looking Pokemon of all time and Sceptile has really good offensive stats for a Grass Pokemon so it was really no contest here on who wins my votes. I also voted for the Budew line because I am such a big fan of Roserade because of how elegant it looks and how powerful it is in battle. Such an overall amazing Pokemon that would earn a spot on my team any day.

i see breloom as a past winner. and hes not here now so he was the past grass winner?
sad. I will go for the other grass/fighting now huehue. There hasn't been another grass starter since bulbasaur that so endearing. chespin =DDDD
Breloom actually won the Fighting type vote back in August, so it's excluded from this week's poll, even though it's primarily a Grass type. No use having it here when it's already going on to the next round of voting!

I'mma be pretty darn boring here and only answer Bulbasaur (and evos) and Leafeon.

Bulbasaur is the best pokémon in the anime, hands down. I wouldn't have loved it as much if it wasn't as cool in the anime, I admit, but it really is so cute and versatile and amazing, much more than you guess at a first glance. Ivysaur is really great too, even though Venusaur is a bit too bulky for my taste and I greatly dislike its mega version, hehe

Leafeon is cute. It's one of the cutest Eevee evolutions, imo, and I like that it's not all "imma flower" or overly weirdly designed. It just has some leaves and a pleasant color. I really like Leafeon's looks, even though I haven't used it in a game. Only in RPing, where it was good to have :3

The Budew line without a doubt, Roserade is one of my favourite Pokémon of all. There are a few good Grass lines up there, but Roserade was my third ever Pokémon to Level 100 and it is by far my favourite Grass-type Pokémon.

Whoo! Grass-type poll! One of my more preferred types...

Treecko/Grovyle/Sceptile - I personally like this evo line, despite what most of my friends think of it. So much sweeping...
Budew/Roselia/Roserade - ^See above.
Chikorita/Bayleef/Meganium - Tanks a lot of hits. That's...pretty much all I can say about this line. (lol I'm not sure how but they somehow made an impact in my memory...)
Turtwig/Grotle/Torterra - It was my first starter Pokemon! I guess your very first Pokemon has a certain place in your heart. (Although now I don't pick it any more because I realized its battling capabilities doesn't fit my style :P )

Unfortunately, I haven't dabbled in any of the Gen 6 Grass-types so I can't actually vote for them... (Chesnaught does seem interesting, though!)

Bellossom hands down. I used to not really give this Pokemon much thought until I used it on Silver. It was awesome. Then I used it on Soul Silver. It was awesome then as well. Now it's one of my top three favorite Pokemon of all time. And that's saying something because I have a lot of Pokemon I like to consider favorites of mine haha.

Overall I love Grass Pokemon but I'm just going to make it easy on myself and pick the small cute petal dancer (and the rest of its evolutionary line!). ♥

The Oddish line is my favourite! Oddish is freaking adorable, Gloom is so depressed that you just want to hug it to cheer it up, and Vileplume is a pure badass. I'm not a big fan of Bellossom (though I am getting more used to it from using it in X!) but the rest of the family are my favourite Grass-types by far. I think it's partly because they're such a cool family, but also partly because there just aren't that many cool Grass-types out there haha.

How am I the only person who's voted for Cherrim? ;___; You all have horrible taste. (I kid, I kid........ mostly.)

Seriously though, favourite Pokémon of all time. It may not be good for battling, but it's adorable, and it has an interesting gimmick. Most people only like sunny Cherrim and think emo Cherrim is dumb but I have such a soft spot for both of them. I can't even explain it entirely but I just love it so much. Cherubi's pretty great too. It chirps! It's so cute! Aaaahh!

Vileplume. A majestic Pokémon that I always SOMEHOW managed to face with great difficulty, for whatever reason.

Another week has past, and another week of voting has concluded here in the Favorite Pokemon Tournament. There was a pretty clear favorite right from the beginning of the week, but it definitely wasn't a run away in the results. Nevertheless, the Pokemon that planted themselves a top the polls this week as your favorite Grass types are...

Spoiler:

For the next round, we'll be finishing off the trifecta of starter types as we vote on your favorite Fire Pokemon. It's easily one of the more popular types, so it should be interesting to see who you vote to victory. The polls will be up tomorrow afternoon, so get ready!
