I admit I'm not a heavy believer in this stuff...however I had an experience the other day.

My dad passed away a while ago, and my mother keeps all of his stuff because in her words, she can't bring herself to throw it out. So we were going through some of his things, and we found his driver's license.

So the next night I have a dream about my dad, in the dream he was checking out our new house. I woke up immediately with a feeling somebody was in the room. I wake up often through the night, but never with this feeling. Not a threatening feeling, just like someone was standing there.

The next morning i'm with my mother upstairs. In a rare instance I saw her lose the normally calm attitude she has. She starts to yell that someone just walked down the steps, even though we were both upstairs. I hadn't even told her about the dream yet. In the house my dad passed away in, she always said she occasionally saw a figure of a man pass through the rooms.

I'm wondering, does anybody else have experiences? I understand if there aren't many believers here, I certainly haven't been myself, but something like this makes me consider.

I'm definitely open to it. When I was checked in at a Texas hotel with someone around 5-6 years ago I experienced a sensation like something was jumping at me while I was trying to sleep. It was absolutely terrifying and I have never had something like that happen before. It felt so real, and not like a very realistic dream either. I actually felt like a spirit lunged to devour me, long nails/claws and all, and would never want to experience that again. Although I no longer associate with the person I was there with anymore, they used to tell me they were haunted by spirits and had multiple paranormal experiences and I will never think to question that :x

i do. i suppose for me, it seems kind of hard to wrap my head around the possibility that we simply ~* don't exist *~ upon death. i think there are definitely things that we aren't aware of and we're unable to see with our own two eyes and can barely comprehend, so there's that.

My sister and I both have some paranormal experience. I used to have a oujia board and the planchette would actually be moving. Often times the planchette would move around fast in circles when we would wait for it to stop at a letter. My sister looked up in the internet asking what does it mean when the planchette goes around in circles and on the internet it said a demon is opening a portal. My sister and I got so scared when we learned about this and afterwards my sister brought the oujia board to church and left it there.

One of my own experience when I was alone was when my sister sent me a chain mail and if tag someone I would hear the voice of an angel tomorrow at 8:30 am. I tagged the chain mail, went to bed and in my sleep when I was dreaming, I felt someone pulling my arms and in my dream an angel was carrying me and then his face turned into a demon and I woke up looking at the clock it said 8:00 am. I waited till 8:30 am to hear the voice of an angel and instead I heard a bang on the wall.

My sister did the chain mail 3 times. First time she did this, at 8:30 am she said she heard a voice whispering in her ear saying, "I love you." Second time she did this was when she was at work and at 8:30 am her boss said he has a surprise for her and said it's in his office. My sister went in her boss office but there was no surprise and this made me laugh so hard when my sister told me about this. Third time my sister did the chain mail, at 8:30 am she heard a growling voice whispering in her ear and it said, "Don't do that again."

Yes, I believe the paranormal exists, and I'm intensely fascinated by it. I've wanted a paranormal experience for awhile now, but I've never had one. Rip. :x

I do, because my mom has had several experiences. I haven't but I don't doubt her because I know she's not lying.

I can't really say that I do believe, but it's not exactly something that I can disprove either.

There's a thing or two that's common in paranormal experiences, I've heard my share of stories from people and watched a ghost show here and there, but I've never had any experiences myself. Sometimes it feels like belief in the paranormal is kinda like belief in a deity doing something in that humans naturally want an answer to everything, and when they can't find one, they make up one to satisfy that desire, regardless of whether it's correct or not.

I don't mean to say though that people are lying though.

No. But my naturally anxious disposition and my willingness to acknowledge that I know shit about the universe means you won't find me making any pentagrams with red candles or holding any séance.

I've had quite a few minor experiences in my life. Odd noises, things moving upstairs etc. But there are two that really stand out.

In my old house, before the fire, you could see from the corner of your eye people walk by the window. Sometimes in all white, one time all red. You would see them long enough to know it was one person and the direction was always the same, around the porch toward the basement. But going outside you never saw them. This went on for at least four years until the fire. Never felt like something evil though.

Now let's talk about the scary one- When I visited Scotland and stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Edinburgh, things got a little terrifying after dark. As soon as the sun set, the elevator would shake very badly. You'd here people arguing above (I was on the top floor!) and there was a foul stench that would pass through. After that, we kept every light on in the room for the rest of our stay.

I do believe in the paranormal but I'm glad I've never experienced anything that could be considered demonic. "The Nun" messed me up 😂

I choose not to believe, even if I had plenty of experiences with them in the past. My family's superstitious as heck, but I try not to get into that as I scare easily and they say that as long as you refuse to believe their existence, they won't present themselves to you. Or something like that I don't know.

When I was younger, I couldn't sleep with the light off for years because one time I swore I saw a ghost standing at the end of my bed when I woke up. I think looking back it might have been a sleep paralysis hallucination (had a lot of trouble with those when I got older which led to a lot of creepy figures in my room). I also used to get the most haunting chill walking past this 1 lamp in our house and given how old it was + how our house is 100+ years old, I wouldn't be surprised if the paranormal exists! Part of me does still think they very well exist but its also a family belief in general. My mum always said that if you don't actively go bothering the spirits, they won't hurt you so that's what I think too. I also definitely feel like the paranormal exists purely because of a lot of those haunted buildings in the world, I definitely do think there's something there in some if not all cases.
