Favorite Pokémon Tournament 2014 - Ice

Welcome to the second annual Favorite Pokémon Tournament here in the Pokémon Polls board, where our goal is to determine the favorite Pokémon of the users here at the PokéCommunity! This will be a tournament that lasts several months, where we'll pit almost all the Pokémon from different types together to determine a winner. After we know the winner of each type, we'll add all of those Pokémon to a final poll, where the winner(s) will be crowned champion, and be known as PokéCommunity's favorite Pokémon!

Spoiler:

• Every week, two new polls will be stickied at the top of the Pokémon Polls board. Each thread will include a different elemental type, and the list of Pokémon to vote from.
• You aren't required to pick just one Pokémon- you can vote for as many as you like to ensure your favorites get through. The Pokémon with the most votes at the end of the week will face off against the other winning Pokémon in a final poll to crown the champion!
• In order to preserve space, we've grouped all of the applicable evolutions in a Pokémon family together. Some Pokémon (ex.: the Nidoran families) may be exempt from this rule.
• For every poll, at least one runner-up will be added to a wildcard poll before the finale. This will give these Pokémon a shot at redemption, and one more opportunity to win the tournament.
• In the event of a tie at the end of the week, Brendino will have the tie-breaking vote. Pokémon tied for first that aren't selected will be immediately entered into one of the wildcard polls.
  
• Furthermore, members who vote and post for a majority of weeks during the tournament will receive an emblem depicting the winning Pokémon!
• If there are any questions that you need answered, feel free to leave a comment in this thread or send a VM to Brendino to get it sorted out.

NOTE: Because of the limited number of poll spaces, not all eligible Pokémon have been included. If you want to vote for an unlisted Ice-type, check the "Other Pokémon" option represented by a (?), and leave a post with your vote.

I voted for the Snorunt line - but it's actually Froslass who takes the spotlight for me! She's quick, strong, has an amazing typing and not to mention also has a great concept and design.

I voted for Froslass, Lapras, and Kyurem. Froslass has a unique typing and is a nice lead in UU. Lapras has always been good to me in my years of playing Pokemon, and now it gets Freeze Dry to give a big **** you to Ground/Water pokes and Kingdra. Kyurem and it's forms are some of my favorite legendaries.

Ice types now, huh.

One goes to Kyurem for being an awesome ice dragon legendary pokemon! Not the most deadly of combinations, but that Special Attack is so cool! Fuse him with Reshiram, and Special moves like Freeze Dry are almost the most dreadful things.

Second to Glaceon for being an eeveelution and for helping me in Pokémon Conquest and Platinum. Plus, the cry is so majestic and I love the design. Cheers!

Lastly I picked Froslass for being really cool and for ruling in Conquest!

Some great Ice-types making it difficult to choose a favourite! I voted for Vanilluxe purely because using one in Black helped me so much, and it's an awesome Pokémon line ofc.

Here's the chilly ones who made my votes:

Lapras: One of my fave Ice-types ever. It's a strong attacker but can also take a hit, plus it even has its own surfing sprite in X/Y which is really adorable.

Articuno: My fave of the Kanto Legendary Birds. Very majestic and beautiful.

Spheal line: Walrein is one of those really big annoyances in hail, it's pretty strong plus Spheal and Sealeo are so cute.

Swinub line: Again, another tough Pokemon (Mamoswine) that has two adorable-looking pre-evos. Ice and Ground is also a very potent attacking combination making it a popular Ice-type in competitive play.

Glaceon: It's an Eeveelution, and I do love cute Pokemon. Glaceon is in fact one of my three fave Eeveelutions ever.

Amaura line: It may have one of the worst defensive typings ever but it's very beautiful and can learn some pretty interesting moves. Also, its Refrigerate ability is something very interesting indeed.

Vanillite line: I must be one of the few who actually loves this infamous "ice cream" Pokemon. How can anyone hate something so cute that remains cute through its evolution line but is also a powerful special attacker? Vanillite will always be a fave of mine because of its cuteness.

Kyurem: Dragon/Ice is another interesting combo, but it has those awesome Black and White Kyurem forms that make it even stronger. They also look pretty boss if I say so.

Voted for Weavile since it's pretty much my favourite Pokemon bar Crobat. It's got the coolest design from all the gen 4 Pokemon in my opinion, it's very athletic and can do nice work competitively. Screw you Smogon, you banned it from UU.

I voted for Cloyster, Jynx, Lapras, Regice, Abomasnow, Froslass, Vanilluxe, Beartic, Aurorus, and the Sneasel line. All of them have amazing or funky designs in my opinion, and can be great team members to boot.

Why is Cloyster not worthy of a mention in the poll?

Sadly, while the Ice-type isn't established too well, there are two Pokémon that really need a mention from me.

Lapras - Anyone who knows me knows that this one is my favorite Pokémon ever. And I don't think I need to explain why again.

Mamoswine - This one has a neat design, dating back to the age of when wooly mammoths were extinct, but this thing is their rebirth and hits really hard. Fun to use, despite its many weaknesses. I already mentioned wanting this thing to have a Mega Evolution with Refrigerate, that would seriously complete my life.

This is the first poll where I didn't have to think for even a second about it, or look up a list of all the Pokémon of the type to make sure I wasn't missing anything. Vanillite is, without a doubt, my favourite ice-type Pokémon. It's so cute! I don't like its evolutions nearly as much but I love Vanillite a lot. It disappoints me that so many people dislike it for being too much... like human items, I guess? :( It gets lumped with with Trubbish a lot when people hate on Gen V and that makes me sad.

The only problem with Vanillite and its evolution line is that they totally missed out on making its shiny a different ice cream flavour. You could sooort of pretend it's strawberry but I can't believe they didn't go with the obvious vanilla vs chocolate. Name conflict, I guess?

When it comes to who I voted for, I voted for Articuno, Regice, and Kyurem since they are my favorite Ice type legendary Pokemon. I voted for Glaceon since I am certain I have used it before, plus it is one of my favorite Eeveelutions. As for the Amaura line, well I like that line and I am using it on my team in X. In regards to the Cubchoo line, I like it since Beartic has a nice ice beard. When it comes to the Snover line, I used that line as part of my team in Platinum.

I went for Lapras, Articuno Weavile, Mamoswine, Frosslass, Glaceon and Kyurem. As I'm not a frequent user of Ice-types in-game, my votes are only based on their design and their battling capabilities.

- Cloyster: Loved it the moment I saw it. Unfortunately I never get to use it as much as I want to. :(

- Jynx: Probably my all time favorite ice type. This is a Pokemon I've used countless times and I enjoy it every time.

- Spheal line: This is mostly because of Walrein. Love the design, enjoyable to use, was a savor to me in rse.

- Froslass: Probably one of the best designs and concepts imo.

Okay, so Ice type is one of my favorite type:

Froslass: my number one pokemon. There is no other pokemon I like more than froslass (except maybe marowak but not on the competitive side)

Walrein: I have a good technique with this pokemon, I juste... like it!

Mamoswine: Always liked piloswine and swinub.

Waevile: I just did one last week and I just LOVE to play with it!!

Glaceon: One of my best pokemon in my team right now I think.

I didn't put a vote for Cloyster, but I do like it very much too!!

Well... I could vote for every ice type pokemon :)

Voted for Articuno, since it's my favorite legendary, and Avalugg, since I like his design for whatever reason.

I'm going for Dewgong, Lapras, Articuno, the Sneasel line, Delibird, Froslass, the Spheal line, Glaceon, and the Amaura line.

Reasons... Eh, Sneasel line for its cool design, Dewgong, Articuno, Froslass and Glaceon for their beautiful designs, Spheal line and Lapras because they hold a special place in my heart, and Delibird because it's Delibird.
