guys you are all forgetting what is clearly the best idea for a forum section: one where all you do is worship me

-> creative media was for people creating the media not for people talking about a particular subset of entertainment
But if you wanna talk about music as a form of entertainment there's GE

And if you wanted to talk about music creation/post your own musical creations there was Creative Media

What is it that you guys want?

WOAH LMAO, that was not supposed to send like that haha.
Wait that really was not on purpose? I thought it was lol

-> CM=/=GE and CM=/=Music Discussion Forum
-> CM is irrelevant to this discussion and I don't know why it was ever brought up
-> Music is a reasonable division from GE just as sports/superheroes are
-> -> therefore the rationale of "Music would take away from GE" is unreasonable bc so do the other two
-> if Music comes out on top it would leave room for GE to breathe and develop more variety
-> if Sports wins it will give many people a place to talk about the huge variety that is Sports
-> superheroes is gimmicky as hell lbr im not on board w that
-> regardless of what wins I believe we should be aiming for a permanent forum and not a gimmick

anyway i adore the resolutions forum idea so theres that

Generally, I think the whole "Superhero" idea is just too specific. It'll be popular for like a few months and die. Not what I think the Frontier should accommodate. You could host a superhero Megathread in GE easily and it'd be fine. in fact I think GE would probably welcome and appreciate the so called avid discussion on superheros you folks suggesting that forum say there would be.

The resolutions forum is a gimmick. I don't think we should waste the frontier on it. I think we could ask staff to make that at an official event forum though as a part of our seasonal festivities though.

Both Music and Sports are reasonable suggestions; they are wide enough topics with a vast enough fanbase to sustain and become a fixture. Neither one will detract from existing places, as it is possible to slightly redefine existing sections.

> suggests worldbuilding forum that we honestly thought at the time to be sustainable on its own, and is fighting for permanent status, everyone decides to shit on it because it is just a waste of time, and wouldnt be granted a permanent status on the forum, as ff aims to find a forum that can sustain itself as a permanent addition to PC

> suggests superhero/sports/pets/other bullshit that doesnt even look to be sustainable, and everyone acknowledges it being so, doesnt even get flak for it because ff is just a silly competition where you get a measly 3 months, then let it die off because thats the game

SUCH DOUBLE STANDARDS oh my fucking god.

if thats the way forum frontier is being handled right now, i'd rather put my vote on the Nah's worshipping forum because apparently FF is for funny forums that will eventually die before 3 months right?

I'm just gonna quote myself from a thread in the staff area.

We've never said FF is for niche ideas or for novelty areas though (at least it's never been advertised as a quirky forum event). But that doesn't mean it's not an outlet for unique ideas or different ideas.

If you're going to suggest something, put some serious effort and consideration into the suggestion. Act as if you're presenting it to 1) your fellow members as a serious place to thrive and show you need their support and activity, and to 2) the higher staff. Show us why this area should exist and what possibilities there are in its creation and sustainability. We don't enjoy shutting down these if they have potential. I'd love to see every FF succeed and be a permanent addition if the activity is there to justify it. But we DO enjoy unique and different ideas! There are a ton of different things that could be suggested to make a unique Frontier. Don't be afraid to be unique. Just don't be cheeky.

If you're gonna suggest a joke-y area though, don't be surprised it doesn't make it through the member vote, HQ veto, or trial period.

Does anyone think a tutoring/help/studying forum would be sustainable? There are a LOT of members available that can make use of it, either as a helper or receiver of help.

What type of forum are you nominating?
-A forum where members can convene to assist each other in their studies. The forum minimum age is 13, so this can include PC members all the way from middle school, high school, and college. Some members can be tutors while others can just come for helping out or asking for help.

we could totally slide art school into this and maybe it will live again

tutoring/tutorials/help threads for all kinds seems good! I doubt it would be like super popular but it's worth a go maybe :0
We DO have a lot of people and kids in school, and I really like encouraging/helping them so I'd like to see it happen, even if it's not as 'exciting'.

I agree. I dont think it will be the most popular, but it will most likely have a steady stream with constant posts. And then get super busy around national exams in various countries (in the US- ACT or SAT, and then AP exams). And idk about other countries, but I'm sure they have something similar. I think it would be great!

sorry if this is mentioned somewhere I'm too lazy to read through this

I think i mentioned this before outside of the ff threads? Anyway I think a blog forum would be cool. It would be a forum where every member could only post one thread and that thread would be their blog. They could write anything like you would a normal blog and members could come and respond to it. I just think it would be a better way to handle blogs and give them more attention. It'd be a bit of a transition, but whereas the blogs are pretty forgettable now I can't see it being too big of a change.

Yea I still think it would be loads of fun and more visible to members than our current blog system! Maybe something like...

? What type of forum are you nominating? (Pets, Shipping, etc.)
A blogthread/AMA forum.

? Include details on the type of threads and content you can picture in this area:
Threads that are updated now and then as new entries to a blog with whatever thoughts or content the thread owner might have, or AMAs. Prefixes to differ between them, and let AMAs be temporary threads for 1 week maybe?

? If you could choose the forum's name, what would you call it?
Member Encyclopedia 2.0 maybe haha
