    Many people I know have been consistent with their favorite type for a while, though some people have changed what their favorite is multiple times too.

    Has your favorite type always been your favorite? I started out loving ghost types the most but eventually fell in love with electric types and now it's my #1. :D
     
    Good question! Ghost-types have always been my favourite and still are; it's my second favourite type that has changed over time. It used to be Fire, then Steel for a long time, and eventually Electric, which is my current one.

    Granted, I might find myself in a similar predicament to you if I find more reasons to like Electric-types, but Ghost will always be up there somehow.
     
    It depends on which is my favorite Pokémon. I used to like Serpiroyal a lot, so of course the grass type was my favorite, now it's Ampharos, so now it's an electric type.
     
    Psychic and Dragon used to be tied for my fav type.
    As the gens went on Dragon took the lead over Psychic, but in gen 4 Ice became my fav type beating both of those.
    My top 3 has remained unchanged from that point onward.

    when gen 6 came Fairy became my 4th favorite type yeeting Normal from 4th to 5th =p
     
    It's been fairly consistent for me. I've had a strong preference for Water, Ice, and Dragon, and Normal.

    Only change was when fairy type was added and that is now in the category of favorites too.
     
    My favorite type was always Dark until the Fairy type was revealed. It has been my favorite ever since! :D
     
    I don't think I had a favorite type up until Gen. IV, when Ice became my favorite type after I fell in love with using a Froslass that a friend traded me (as a Snorunt). I still consider it my favorite type, though there are a few Ice-type Pokémon I prefer over Froslass now.

    EDIT: Well, I guess I did have a thing for Dark-types back in Gen. III, or at least Pokémon with Dark moves (I was going through a phase). I remember using Umbreon, Glalie (knew Crunch and could honestly pass for a Dark-type), Nuzleaf, and Walrein (which I guess I assumed was part Dark-type thanks to a Team Aqua's Walrein card) in Gale of Darkness. Maybe Mightyena too since I remember it being on one of my old Trainer cards, and Rayquaza just 'cause. And my Trainer OC back then was a Dark-type Gym Leader.

    I had a feeling my favorite type before was Fire or Fighting, but I've been much more partial to Poison recently. I just like the aesthetic of it and the fact that it's normally associated with purple.
     
    Hmm, to be honest? I've always loved Grass types, still do. But, I can recall some periods where I said my favorite type was Ice, or Dragon.

    Tbh, I don't really even have a favorite type, but I still lean towards Grass Pokemon more than anything else. I just wish they weren't so fragile.
     
    My original favourite type was the Psychic type and my first favourite Pokemon was Starmie until Gen 3 when Gardevoir appeared and was my favourite Pokemon for a very long time until I discovered Lilligant. Lilligant is a Pokemon I adore and I use her on every game she is available.

    My favourite type is Grass with Fairy type being a very close second.
     
    My favorite Pokémon type was always Water-type and probably still is. Not only is Water a great type defensively because it only has two weaknesses, which are Electric-type and Grass-type, or 2.5 weaknesses if you consider the Ice-type move Freeze Dry, Water-type is also great offensively. Many Water Pokémon combined with certain abilities such as Swift Swim could be extremely deadly in the rain. I also enjoy Psychic, Poison, and Fairy-type Pokémon as well.
     
    I've obsessed myself in entomology before Pokemon and after the introduction to different types, of course it always had to be bug. Though, my favorite Pokemon [Garchomp] isn't even a bug type, the typing itself hasn't changed at all as it still holds #1 favored typing of all time.
     
    When I first started playing Pokemon (platinum), my favorite type was FIghting, far and away.

    Then BW came out, and Psychic became my favorite type. Overtime I began switching between Dark and Psychic.

    Now, ever since XY, Flying is my favorite type. FIghting is a close second, with Psychic at third. Dark honestly isn't even in my Top 5, I now realize I only loved it because of the new Dark types in Gen5.
