Do you still believe in Santa Claus? At what age did you stop believing in him? How did that make you feel when you found out he wasn't real? Do you still put on act for kids that still believe in him?

I don't believe in him myself. I can't remember when I stopped believing in him either. I just know that there was a time when I matured and started to realize a lot of things that maybe he wasn't what I had thought growing up. It did disappoint me at first, but I have come to terms with it over the years. I do still believe in him when it comes to kids that still do though because they are young, and I don't want to like... ruin their spirit of the holiday magic.

I don't remember when I quit my own belief. I doubt it was anything dramatic and it was probably a result of getting older.

However, I also don't mind putting on an act of believing for kids. It feels selfish to rob a child of something that I once held the enjoyment of. Childhood only happens once and it's a harmless sense of fun on the holidays. Who would I be to take that magical fun away from a child?

I also think the argument of 'It teaches kids to lie about something' is quite black and white and serves without context. If a child has already been instilled with a decent set of morals and values, a holiday tradition being carried over is not going to hurt them in the long term.

I quit idk at around 9/10, I think. I remember that we were in class and our teacher told us that Santa Claus wasn't real.
It was funny because I always led a battle against kids who didn't believe in him, stating otherwise.
Anyway, when someone like a teacher says that, I started actually having doubts. When I went back home I asked my parents and they told me the teacher was right lol.
I didn't really remember being particularly sad. It was mostly like a "now it makes sense" kind of moment.

I was never told he was real thankfully, but I also never really had an interest in the holiday even when I was little. I honestly respect the parent that told me, and would have been quite upset to have found out they'd both have been liars. It was always funny to talk to other kids who did believe, I wasn't one to spoil their fun, though. :p

I can't really remember, i was like 10 maybe? anywho i remember being a little sad until i was told i could help put out presents for my lil bro who still believes <3 and i would never spoil it ever for a lil kid, who would :((

I stopped believing in Santa around 8/9 years old since I had fairly unrestricted internet access and looked it up; though I remember lying to my parents and saying I still believed in him for several years after since I thought I'd get more presents that way (since I'd get them from both mom / dad and Santa), although looking back that was almost certainly untrue. I wouldn't tell someone who still believed in Santa that he isn't real though, it's a harmless tradition and there's no need to ruin someone's holiday fun.

I can't remember the exact age, but I do remember the exact moment that I realized Santa wasn't real. It was when I was looking at a note that "Santa" wrote back to me. I stared at the note, realized that it was just my father's handwriting, and the magic died inside me just a little that day. It didn't really upset me much because I was more focused on what I got that Christmas. After that, my family just kind of phased Santa out of Christmas without much discussion.

But if anyone talks to me like Santa is real (no matter the age of the other person), I'll play along. It's fun and it's harmless and I'm not about to ruin anyone's joy around the holidays.

I was like... 12 or 13? I had to be told by my parents that Santa wasn't real because they did a really good job of convincing me; they had fancy handwriting they used only for "Santa"' and the "Tooth Fairy". I also saw a red light in the sky on Christmas Eve one night that I was convinced was from Rudolph's glowing red nose since it was too far away to tell what it actually was.

My parents also decided to give me presents from Santa's reindeer sometimes, funnily enough. Mostly Rudolph, but I think Donner or Blitzen were named on a present once or twice. I always left out an apple or two for the reindeer alongside the cookies for Santa, too.

As for playing along, I don't interact with many kids since none of my IRL friends have any, but I absolutely will pretend that Santa's real if asked about him by someone who doesn't know yet.

When I was like 9 or 10 I went downstairs to wait for Santa and find out definitively if he existed and when I got to the living room, I found this book on the couch and when I got too tired to wait I went back to bed and then the next morning unwrapped it as a Santa gift. I guess my parents had started to take it out and forgot to hide it properly. :') So I guess Pokémon ruined it all for me. I think the year before my friends at school and I each saved our wrapping paper from our Santa gifts to see if they matched up but when they didn't I think we just rationalized it away somehow anyway lol.

I put on an act for years after that for my brother but I haven't really known any little kids in the years since then so I haven't had a chance to act it up. :'( We do see kids on Christmas Eve most years, but besides the year one of them was really into Pokémon cards, they have zero interest in talking to adults so I don't really have a chance to say much of anything regarding Santa lol.

I had my suspicions as early as age 8 or 9, but what really clinched it for me was age 11. That year, a gift from "Santa" turned out to be defective. Somehow, we were able to return it to a local store to get it replaced, and we even had the receipt for it. My reaction was like, "Yes! I have the evidence to prove my suspicions now!"

I played along for the next few years until my parents had "the talk" with my brother. I remember that he took the news pretty hard. Afterwards, they came into my room and asked if I knew the truth. I shrugged and said, "Yeah, I've known for a few years now. Can I get back to fighting Bowser now?" I think they were relieved that they didn't have to have that talk with me right after devastating my brother with it, lol

Besides, he never delivered me that Buick Electra Estate Wagon that I kept asking for since I was 5 years old, lol

I don't deal much with kids so I've never had the chance to either perpetuate the lie or expose the truth. Which option I'd choose depends on whether the kid's an obnoxious brat or not.

I don't believe I ever believed in him because my mother told me at a very young age he wasn't real...I mean, I'm Jewish, so, there isn't really a Jewish equivalent anyway of Santa.

I believed when I was a kid, but figured it out at some point. Like many I don't recall exactly when, I just remember the moment itself, when during a car trip with my dad I asked him about it, and he confirmed my suspicions that Santa is just a cover up for the Big Tooth Fairy corporation.
