name of choice

many of us have irl names that we don't like - they don't reflect our personality, outlook on life, gender, etc
but not many of us actually go through with changing their name in any aspect

however, let's fantasize! if you're not satisfied with your current namesake, what would you like to change it to/be referred as? have you already made a change? what's holding you back?
what are your reasons for not liking your name? or, what do you like about your name now?

I want something exotic, but I don't know what. If I were to change my name though right now I'd probably name myself Leon after my great grandpa. Trevor's just such a gross, ugly, and bland name. Most people don't refer to me by my first name so it doesn't bother me enough to go out and change it.

My name has to do with horses and policework, both of which are far from my interests. Also my surname comes from a long string of bad fathers, and as I want to be a stellar parent I don't want to carry on that name, if it makes any sense.

My mother told me that she wanted to name me Nicholi but she didn't care as much about the name as my dad did so I got named what I did. She told me she never got as far as the spelling so I imagine had she named me it it would be spelled Nicolai, but since it didn't pan out that way I picked the spelling (Nicholi). Instead of it being my given name though I'm going to have it be my surname, and let my current middle name become my only given name, Alexander. So my desired name is Alexander Nicholi, and to be honest that hasn't changed much at all. I want a name change.

I like my name. Nicholas might be common, but it's kind of nice that I prefer Nicholas while others go by Nick. Makes it a little different. I really can't think of another name I would go by, so I wouldn't change my name.

I'm quite fond of my nickname Nina. It's nothing special, but a like it when my friends give me nickames like Neeners or Ninar. I'm not fond of my full name though (Nina is in the last half of my name) since people just spell and pronounce it wrong which is a huge pain. My last name is also somewhat complicated so two somewhat complex names end out annoyingly.

As for names I'd want, I really know in particular. I do have a preference for unisex names apparently though xD
Also in other parts of the internet I've had names like Kyuu and Tripp which were based off characters (Like Tripp from Pokemon). If I had to choose it would probably be one of those names.

I'm happy with Nichole. I know the name's common, but it's usually without the "h" that most people tend to have. I don't even know how that extra letter got in there, but at least it's better than what I was almost going to be named - Chloe, or even the other one my mother was considering, Rhiannon.

I like Kimi better than I do Kimberly, but that's not saying I hate my real name. I just prefer my nickname because that's what everyone calls me now. XD I actually don't hear my name as often as I used to. Once in a great while I'll hear it pop up, but it's not often. Kim Kardashian ugh. The only thing holding me back from changing to Kimi is my mom. She's only just now getting used to me using it. See, my grandfather used to call me that before he passed away. She used to hate it. However, someone once told her that she should let people call me that in his memory or something like that. So, that's what she did.

I spell it K-I-M-I because I thought it was unique. Plus, it's Japanese as well. I actually stole it from Kimi Finster of the Rugrats because she's my absolute favorite. :P I liked how she spelled it and just went with that. It wasn't until later that someone pointed out about it being japanese.

I am fine with my name wouldnt want another. I am glad we have a name law here, so nobody can get named apple sauce, dumbass, or audio science.

I'd remove the 'Bog' (God) part 'cause my name literally means 'given by God'. Ironic, I know. Actually, I'm gonna change my name to Dana when I grow up. Man, I fucking hate how Bogdana sounds.

I'm fine with the name my parents gave me and wouldn't trade it for anything else. I was named after a queen, and while growing up would get complimented on my "pretty name."

Then about 6 years ago that one silly book character got into pop culture with a movie series and for a few years, inquiries about my name got mildly annoying...

I'm pretty okay with my irl name, but if I had to change it, it would be to Allison and I'd go by Alli for short. But I guess that wasn't obvious enough.

My name is cool enough... I love it!

good to know. my husband has a coworker called bogdan.

I actually really like my name! Janna is pretty-looking and quite exotic so I wouldn't change it. Used to dislike it during my teen days but now I love not only how the name sounds but also how it appears in writing. Though Naomi is another one of my favorite names... would totally love to have that if I were forced to change. And Nora. Decisions, decisions.

idk i have all these fantasies abt changing my name and whatever but wow what a hassle... i know i'd change it to Anna Skye if i did tho. skye is my middle name and my first name is actually savannah but ew "savannah skye" my mother must have been in a fuckin whimsical mood
if i were born a guy she would have named me nicolas grey and i like that much better but i dont identify as a guy so im not gonna use that one

I honestly hate my name in real life, but if I had the ability to change it, I would at least keep the first two letters intact.

So... Syrus for me, please.

My name has grown on me, mostly because of the nicknames I get. But it's still sort of annoying for me. It's Whitley.
Obviously, it's constantly mistaken for "Whitney", or even "Whitely"/"Whiteley". Which all gets old to the point where I barely bother to correct people anymore unless I plan on seeing them again.
I get fun nicknames though. Aside from Whit, there's Whitters, Whitterly, Wilson, Whitler, etc. lol
I like my middle name Winter much more though. I wish my parents would have done it the other way.
I don't think there's another name I'd rather have.
