admittedly i agree, especially for the Shiny Metagross that we got for the release of ORAS for example. not that i wasn't happy with it though...

There's definitely been an increase of shiny distribution in the last couple of generations, though I don't tend to pay much attention to them.

With my shiny trade shop open it was great to have a mega beldum in XY everyone wanted it but then GF had to come along and ruin it I basically just took him down cause he's basically worthless now

I was going to ask how was I in hiding re: hikari past page but then I remembered that I took myself off invisible for the first time in years wow.

I would love to see Pokemon have more variations. Vivillion was a good start to that, having different ones depending on the region. The two Shellos as well. Now if only they can expand it a bit more perhaps even for older Pokemon.

I dont think Events are devaluing shinies. Cloning? Maybe. Shiny chaining? Maybe.

I have 30 Rayquazas, Kyogres, Latios and other Legends in my Emerald and I'd have no problem cloning a shiny if I ever found one. And in Platinum, I got 10+ Shiny Beldums with more ease then you'd expect. How did I catch them? May I order 10 Rayquazas with 10 Masterballs on them? Yes, I may, its really easy to be done. So yeah, events are least of the problem imho.
And I am talking legit ways of getting Pokemon, dont even get me started into the entire Powersaves, codes and other areas. :D

The problem with shinies is a huge majority of them not being very different from the normal colours, making them not worthy to try obtaining.

I doubt I will trade a lot for shinies. If I wanted to get a shiny easily I'd just ask someone to clone it for me. That moment when you see a shiny grass patch shake (Platinum), and see the sparkles, and your work has payed off, that however is priceless. Just the fact that there are many shinies does, in theory lessen the value, but you have shinies for yourself, not for others, so if you love your shinies, that is the entire point. And to conclude, trust me, chances are liking of your own shinies is a lot greater than liking of hacked/cloned/traded shinies. Just my two cents.
