Do you imbibe? If so, how often?
Seldom. If it's a social event and the occasion is a special one like a new year's eve party, then sure. It's a family tradition to pop champagne at the stroke of midnight to greet the new year around here. But it's not an everyday thing I do. I might drink once or twice all year. A couple of years ago I went to see a play on my birthday and there was a wine-tasting in the lounge before the show. I took a glass and ate some of the cheese and crackers on the buffet tables, and mingled with the crowds. It seemed like a good way to kill time until the performance. I have been invited on nice dinner dates and picnics and shared a bottle of wine, but would not have probably bought alcohol on my own. I'm more of a fruit smoothie lady, still I'm not afraid to try things, and will rise to the occasion if someone just hands me a goblet. "Nothing in excess" as the ancient Greeks day.
When I have received gift baskets containing wine as presents during the Christmas season I usually just eat the chestnuts and fruits, then store the alchol or maybe use the spirits in cooking, enhancing a nice pasta sauce with red or white wine can be quite delectable.
What's your drink of choice?
Japanese Plum Wine. It's delicate, mild and sweet, almost like a cup of twangy punch.
Do you drink beer or wine?
Wine is alright, but I dislike beer. I can drink red wine, but I prefer the softer Chardonnay.
What will you absolutely NOT drink?
Moonshine. Someone gave me some at a party one time when I was 17. I reluctantly had one sip and wanted to spit it out. It tasted like I was drinking gasoline straight out of a car, my mouth was on fire for ages after one teeny taste. They could not get me to drink one drop more of that.
Do you like to take shots - if so, what kind?
I haven't experimented enough to say. I have had some Scottish whiskey before though, it was very pleasant, but it was also really diluted liqueur with chocolate. So I'm arguably cheating.
Do you consider yourself a lightweight? How much does it take to get you drunk?
I have never been drunk before. I drink such a moderate amount even socially like a glass or two, that it's not enough to be drunk on. It's safe to say that I am a lightweight I think.
