Sitting in a soup of your own filth with the intention of getting clean has always baffled me. Also I'm nearly two metres tall and do not fit in most bath tubs particularly well anyway. So fuck that on two levels.
I love baths but never take them. Ever since someone said you're basically swimming in your own dirt and sweat, it's put me off a bit... as much as I want it... :D Showers I suppose?
I only take showers in the summer when I want to be in and out quickly. Soaking in a bath is one of the few things that relaxes me so unless it's very hot I will always go for a bath.
...and stepping out of a shower and being assaulted by the cold air is one of the most unpleasant things you can experience that doesn't involve going through physical pain or playing a bad video game, so it's something I prefer to avoid.
I just like showers better, for some reason. 🤷 Maybe it's the feeling of the water hitting you. Also, am I the only one who doesn't always stand up for the entire duration of the shower? If the mood strikes me I'll sit or lay down on the tub floor and just...vibe.
I have never taken a bath (as far as I remember). I'd like to try once though. Not to clean myself, but to relax.
However, if it's to clean myself, there's no way I'd take a bath. I prefer the fastest solution, my days are busy ^^"
I hate taking baths. I can never get comfortable and the water gets cold way too quickly. Plus I hate the feeling of my bare ass on the tub. It's weird. So I'm a shower person all the way. I can't get enough of that boiling-lava-hot feeling of the water so being able to turn the hot water up within seconds is awesome.
That said, I think the "stewing in your own filth" thing about baths is way over exaggerated and dumb. Unless you're working the coal mines, you ain't that dirty, I guarantee it.
