oh okay that doesn't sound nearly as bad as I imagine it would be, but that's probably because they were inexperienced. whenever I hear like a noise or something right before I go to bed I freak out and think we're going to get robbed, basically sweat furiously through my sheets until I finally fall asleep lmao

Lol I'm like this too. If I hear a crack, I can't sleep for a while xD

The only thing I've ever had stolen from me was a CD player in gym class in 7th grade. I hated it because we couldn't have locks when we dressed out, on top of people digging through backpacks for the hell of it

I steal sometimes. I took a couple of games from my stepbrothers because they no longer have ds systems because they don't know how to take care of things and broke them so they can't play the games anyways. And I found an ipod touch once and then got accused of stealing it. And I found a DS with like a whole book of games just sitting in the commons area of our high school once that I took after sitting there for an entire class period waiting for someone to come get it. The DS ended up not being able to play ds games and then the ds games that were there were all games that disc replay and gamestop didnt want.

I live in a third story apartment, the only way in is the front door. I'm not worried about someone breaking in as I live in a really nice suburb where there really isn't much crime. If someone were to break in, I would imagine that they would make quite a bit of noise busting the front door down. I would think that if that happend at night, I would wake up, and then I could (hopefully) scare them off.

Not that I have anything worth stealing anyways.

Yeah, just living in an apartment isn't enough to fear. o__O You have to have something more concrete than that, like an apartment with bad neighbors.

My thieves were my neighbors as well, I wonder how common it actually is. Probably more than I would expect, crimes of opportunity you know?

my neighbourhood has a super bad rep, but i don't mind, it's pretty safe. we have drug dealers across the road and a few houses up, and next door kind of but it's pretty ok. there's a lot of gossip but in general if something happens we all band together as one and gossip! also the little girl living next door is so cute legit. and the lady on the other side moved out and now there's going to be units there instead of a house which is kinda depressing, since it's been there since i was born.

and uhh... we've gotten broken into a few times, but ever since then we've been pretty smart with locking doors and stuff, as well as hiding our valuables each time we go out. n_n

I live in the center of the city, but the area is iffy. College students galore, junkies and immigrants too. Sometimes the last two overlap, which is bad, but otherwise the immigrants are excellent. Only crappy part is the local park, which is a pot-haven. The excellent part is that all the cheap wine bars we go to is now just a block away, so I can get piss drunk without having to worry about several bus rides and a walk like I used to.

Since I live in a neighborhood where the majority of my neighbors are Border Patrol agents, crime statistics are lower than other neighborhoods, so it gets pretty quiet 'round here. If some random burglar were to break in someone's house or my house, the police would come for him before the worst. Yay small towns?

Yeah, at times like that, it seems smaller areas are a better place to be. On a closer note, does anyone's neighborhood do the Neighborhood Watch? I haven't seen that since I was little (mid 90's)

I'd say my city is pretty small, but the area I live in has such a diverse range of kinds of people. We don't have the same idea of how you should act and respect your neighbors I think, because where I grew up you would shut up after 10pm and if not, you would kindly warn your neighbors beforehand, like if you were goin to hace a party or something. But here, I often hear children running around playing and screaming stuff at midnight. They scream stuff all afternoon really. It's just so annoying because it's warm so I have to have my windows open, but I would like to close them to hear less of their noise.

We don't have a neighborhood watch but the neighborhood that I'm in is where a lot of cops live so. I fell pretty safe at night. And then the rest of the people who aren't cops are all really old people. So nothing much really goes on around here, and they're all really nice and no matter what me and my family have ever done we've never got a single noise complaint. And we can be quite obnoxious.

So my new apartment is near the apartment complex playground. Screaming all the time, day and late into the night because it's summer. I understand that kids are loud, but I feel like the parents should realize that there are a few dozen apartments that are bombarded by screaming and try to keep it to a minimum, right? Like, not stop them from letting out one shriek if they were tagged, but I hear kids scream for a good 30 seconds straight just to scream.

God, it's exactly like that yeah :x thing is, it isn't even a big playground here, they just hang around my yard because they live here and it's a bit shielded from the surrounding streets so it's a great place to SHOUT in apparently.

Little kids in the summer is the worst, honestly. Parents let them roam around without much of a care and they just make all sorts of noise and linger in places they shouldn't be after curfew
