Do you keep printed photos?

99% of the pictures I have are not, they would be digital ones on my computer or on my phone. Recently though I did receive an envelope of snaphots from my dad. It contained young photos of him and my mom, along with images of other relatives, including a mini version of me and my dog.

I put them all in an organizer where I keep physical reminders of nice moments in life like birthday/thank you/holiday cards and playbills from shows etc.

Do you have any hard copies of photos, maybe in your wallet or framed on your desk?

I used to make a habit of doing that with a printer at home but haven't had the need of keeping one for ages. Recently though I printed a sweet picture from the printer at work and framed it. It's my first printed photo in 8 years.

If we're talking about digital photos that I've printed out, I can count the number on one hand, but I do have some.

But if we're talking about actual photos taken with a traditional camera, I have a bunch dating back years, including a bunch from high school and my first couple years of college.

Yes!!!! Between me and mum we have literally thousands of printed photos spanning all the way back from god knows how many years ago.

In fact as we speak I am pretty sure Mum is currently going through the most recent batch of printed out photos, a good 200 or so.

We have a whole unit filled with photo albums at this point and I have some copies of special ones tucked away in a box somewhere.

I have tons of printed photos! I used to even have my own darkroom but digital killed that off sadly.

There is just something beautiful and tangible about a print. Digital pictures are amazing, but how often do we actually go through our folders and look at them? The ones printed and hung on a wall or placed in an album give more viewing opportunities imo and that is worth it.

I will say though, as someone that has lost important prints and negatives before - PLEASE still keep a digital copy in case life decides to bite you. It is worth investing in a cheap scanner for non-digital pics trust me ❤️

I have a photo album that has pictures from April-December, 2021. I didn't take enough pictures to make albums for 2022, 2023 or 2024. But I really want to take more next year and make a 2025 edition,

We still have a bunch! Photos are all taken via our phones nowadays but we still have most, if not all, of the photos from when we used cameras. Family have multiple reaaally big albums that they still keep in the house lol. Lots of fun memories, including from when I was a toddler. It's really fun to look back on those since I never remember those things myself!

I don't really have printed photos on me, I enjoy taking pictures and have been finding myself more comfortably doing it more often recently, but they're all digital and saved on my phone.
Growing up I'd see a lot of adults in my life (coworkers of my parents, teachers, that sort of thing) have framed photos of themselves with their loved ones and pets on their desks, and I've always thought that was really lovely. I think my mom had a coworker who had gotten married a few months before I'd seen her in the office and she had photos from her wedding on her desk, and an old French teacher of mine (who was absolutely lovely) had photos on the wall next to her desk of her and her husband from every trip she took to France with him. Whenever I get married or go on big vacations or have these big events in my life, I'd like to get those photos taken and printed out so I could do the same. I like the idea that I can make things in my life that can capture how I feel at a specific time, and are able to outlive me if they're taken good care of. I think it would be nice for family or friends to have physical belongings of mine whenever I'm not around.
So it's something I'd really like to do in the future. For now though? I have a print of Dawn and some Pokemon in a picture frame on my desk I got from a convention when I was a kid. Does that count?
