Unpopular opinion time! What are some games you enjoy, but no one else seems to share your sentiment.
Off the top of my head:
Paper Mario: Sticker Star
Now before you grab your pitchforks and torches, let me explain.
This game gets way too much flack from the PM fandom, and I think it's kind of over hyped how bad it is.
I've heard people say it's one of the worst games ever made, when in actuality there are bigger fish to fry (don't put this on the level of something like Sonic 06 or Action 52, their worlds apart people).
But come on, It's colorful, it's fun, it's enjoyable. I know It's a item-based battle system, and the enemies don't drop stickers. But it's a good thing they can be found literally everywhere.
The simplistic story is completely fine, because the game gets by on gameplay (which is fun)
The bosses are just so interesting and creative, in other PM games it was mostly just: hit them. Sure there were some instances of weaknesses in boss fights, but it was mostly just: hit them. In sticker star the bosses had creative ways of defeating them, making a goomba unit topple over, knocking a pokey out of the arena using a baseball bat, poisoning a blooper with it's own ink. These bosses are just so creative and fun.
Mario Party 9/10
These games are fun, plain and simple. You can say how different it is, but here's the thing different does not equal bad, and MP 9/10 were a nice change of pace from the kind of formulaic games that came before it.
Roller Coaster Tycoon 3
This one gets a lot of hate from fans of RCT 1/2, and frankly it is unwarranted. I have lost many hours of my life to this game, and it has been a creative outlet for me for a long time. It basically took what worked in 1 and 2 and brought it into the realm of 3D, special mention also goes out to the expansion packs. The packs for RCT 1/2 added rides, scenery, and scenarios. The packs for 3 also do that, but they also add new mechanics, allowing for seemingly endless possibles. There's also a ton of custom content for RCT3, opening the doors to even more possibilities. I may have played 1 and 2 first, but I can safely say RCT3 is the best one IMO. Also sandbox mode is one of the greatest things ever.
Those were some of mine. But what are some games you like, but no one else does?
