Halloween

Hey hey it's Halloween!

Did you have plans to do anything? Normally I'm not one to do much for it, especially since here in Australia people care a little less than they did in the US, but we passed by a house decorated with ghost Pokémon cutouts and that gave me some ideas for the future lol. Or did your day go about as usual?

No, I don't do much. It's indeed not a big deal as it is in the US. It's fun when you're a child, but I remember getting some religious lecture almost every year lol.
Now, I think that the American Halloween is becoming more popular here too, anyway I'll probably do nothing. I am overall not much into Halloween

I like to do something for Halloween, and will put up some decorations today when I get home, though I am the only one in the neighborhood who seems to be doing it. I will probably throw a witch hat on my head, nothing too crazy. In the past I have gone full masquerade, head-to-toe costumes as skeletons, bride of Frankenstein's monster, vampire countesses, but keeping it simple because I am not sure if any tricker-or-treaters will even show up tonight since the weather does not look promising. If they do come calling, then they will be handed candy. I will watch some horror movies when it's late to try to help me stay up until midnight, and drink wine from a goblet that looks like a hand.

I don't celebrate major holidays, so it's just another day for me. But I hope those of you who are doing something have a good time!

My younger sister is going out trick-or-treating. Unfortunately I have the night shift at work today and I'm getting to the point where it looks weird if I go out anyway; I'm only 16 but people always think I'm like 20 when they see me IRL.

My work says we're allowed to dress up on Halloween though; so I'll probably don a tourist costume!

We spent the whole day out because of traffic. I had a PET scan at 1, finished at 3, got home at 6!

Yesterday evening there was also a special showing of The Shining at one of my local theaters. I went there. It was on the Day of the Dead, so I count that as a continuation of my Halloweeny celebrations. It was good to see this movie in theaters where you can properly hear the ominous score played on a professional sound system, and not just at home, then see all those disorienting shots in giant detail. The last half an hour of this film always has me on the edge of my seat. I just so happened to be taking a look back at the Stephen King book The Shining, so this screening was perfect timing for me.

went out with my partner and some friends to a pizza place for a small halloween party and pulled off a random last minute costume lol. there also just happened to be disney-themed karaoke going on, so we hit the stage for some solos and duets of classics from rapunzel, enchanted, and the little mermaid~ it was a very fun night and we got a free pizza voucher too! which we used immediately ofc lmao

Perfection!

I really wanted to go somewhere spooky but just stayed at home in the end. We watched some spooky Halloween films then I quietly marked Samhain on my own 😊

I wasn't planning on doing anything (I LOVE Halloween and dressing in costumes, but I never know what to do other than sit at home dressed in costume), but one of my friends invited me to his school club's Halloween potluck. It was a lot of fun, and I haven't seen him in a while so it was nice to catch up. Also I got third place in the costume contest even though no one knew who I was. I won the title of "Secretary of Halloween" lol
