6th Gen ORAS anniversary

5. Which bike did you choose when you first got to Mauville?

Acro Bike. Going to second Hika in that there are no more crumbling floors in ORAS, so Mach is not as useful when you consider navigation restrictions. My favorite secret base spot has always been the top of the waterfall at Route 119, so having the Acro was needed. You can have both bikes on you in these games though, so I don't think whichever one you picked first is a big deal.
 
There's definitely more spots that require the Acro Bike than there are spots that require the Mach Bike to reach, so I can definitely see where getting the Acro Bike has its advantages (gives you access to some great Secret Base spots!)

Ultimately though, I chose the Mach Bike, since it zips me from place to place faster. Mach is usually my go-to bike, and I just switch to the Acro Bike when I need it.
 
5. Which bike did you choose when you first got to Mauville?

Mach Bike. My old secret base needs one to access sooo. I'm so glad that they added the option for both bikes later in the game. :D
 
1. Did you get Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire the day they came out?
Nope. I got it earlier this year in January. I was currently in a slump of not being interested in Pokémon. Not even the Hoenn remakes, which were something I've been wanting so badly before, could even convince me to get it on launch day. However, after playing it, my love for Pokémon has been re-surged, and I'm back to getting them on launch day and playing them as normal :P

2. What was your reason for choosing OR or AS over the other?
My first game was Emerald, but I had a Kyogre or two at some point around then. I don't remember getting a Groudon (however, I have a Smeargle with Fissue sitting in my Emerald PC box), but either way, I've come to prefer Kyogre. Not to mention that it's in my top 3 favorite legendaries. I won't say Groudon isn't a hell of a badass beast as well, though.

3. What did you nickname your starter?
I named my Blaziken Blazer because that's what I named my old starter from Emerald that I've transferred over to Gen VI.

4. Did you do the Pokemon Contest when you first got to Slateport?
I was already planning to give the contest a try, but I wasn't expecting the whole Lisia thing. I love her character and she honestly motivated me more to do more contests. I enjoyed contests enough that I did it a few times. I stopped playing ORAS after I beat the Delta Episode in September, and maybe I'll go back and get all the Master Rank contests once I'm finished with Y.

5. Which bike did you choose when you first got to Mauville?
I always chose the faster variant of the bike, if there were more than one. I think there's also a bit more obstacles you can only traverse via the Mach Bike than the Acro Bike. Thank god they let you have both in ORAS.

Haha no. I completely skipped a Pokemon Contest until I beat the game and I only decided to do a contest to get that special Pikachu.

5. Which bike did you choose when you first got to Mauville?
I chose the Mach bike. It's way nicer to speed around and get from place to place faster (being the impatient person I am). It also helps a lot with egg hatching since the Mach bike + the loop in the Battle Resort is like hatching heaven (it's way nicer than X/Y's since Lumiose City's loop just made me dizzy).

yes i did! i got both copies. one for me and one for my sister.

i just alpha sapphire because of kyogre.

Yes I do! I always use skitty for pokemon contests.

I chose the mach bike.

Wow... it's already been a year! Sadly I have to admit I stopped playing ORAS once I snatched up Fire Emblem, but I made it through the Delta episode!

1. Did you get Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire the day they came out?
Yes! I actually pre-ordered it, and got it the morning it came out. I was the first one at Wal-mart to get it, though, and they didn't even have it on the shelves or unpacked from the back storage area yet. xD​

2. What was your reason for choosing OR or AS over the other?
I chose AS because I wanted to play the remake of the first video game I owned, Pokemon Sapphire.​

3. What did you nickname your starter?
Torcher! It was a Torchic, obviously.​

4. Did you do the Pokemon Contest when you first got to Slateport?
Nah. I preferred to take on Team Aqua instead.​

5. Which bike did you choose when you first got to Mauville?
Mach Bike, I think? Gotta go fast!​

I got the Acro Bike first. Yes it is slower, but the tricks are just so fun to do that I took that one.
 
So, now that we've gotten our first bike from Mauville, one of our next stops in the game will be Route 111, where we find Aarune, who gives us the TM for Secret Power!

I think it was on that new tree on Route 117 (as in wasn't present in the original games) because I wanted a treehouse-based Secret Base but also didn't want one that was too big or required boards to cover holes.

The secret base is still untouched so I think it is on route 112.

Yes, I did, I'm entering the Normal Toughness contest (iirc) with Abby the Poochyena, and it went smoothly.

I'm going with Acro Bike, because it's my favorite bike of them all if it comes to using them in RSE. I also like that wheelie and hopping techs that I can do with this nifty bike.

I was clueless where to go first, so I was setting it on the spot where I was given Secret Power to (in other words, the tree in Route 111). However, since then, I started to wander and later decided to move my base to somewhere in Route 118.
