Have you ever signed up to something and the username you wanted is taken by someone else ?

it happened to me when I signed up to a few sites like Neopets back in the day

Yeah like... all of the time. Luckily, AdorbzFangirl is more unique and such. I don't have to worry about it being taken or anything. XD

Things like this are why I agonize over trying to find a unique name for sites. I'm bad enough with finding names I like, I don't want to start over again because my first pick is possibly already taken oops.

All the time, it's happened with so many different sites mainly because I try to find a generic username like a single word.

It has happened quite many times but I have so many other username options up my sleeve that I don't usually even mind if the ones I use most often are taken.

This has happened to me a few times over the years, although I've never really tried to create a unique username for myself, so that's probably why.

I just add a couple numbers at the end of my username if BadSheep is already taken.

For example:

BadSheep -> xXxBadSheep69pussyslayerxxX

I've actually had this problem twice, on Reddit and Facebook I believe. I just find it hard to believe that there are other users that would use my username that I use on all my social media platforms (@superdupi, shameless plug). It's really annoying, but I have to live with it.

While were on the topic, for the people who knew me way back in the day (when I was Bloodex. lol) you'll be amused by this story. I signed up on Youtube using that as my name, but it was taken, so I signed up with an edited version of it and then proceeded to harass the hell out of the poor guy who had my username. I was 13 in my defense and it makes me cringe every time i think about it

My name has never been claimed by someone else, thank god. However, I find the name a bit 'much' sometimes, and find a replacement more normal name is hard. My second go-to name, Grocerylist, is more often than not taken, and it's actually not a name I always wanna use. :/ Maybe I should give Protean another try...

to be honest i don't use this username really on any other forums. i go by a lot of usernames on many forums so i dont have too many issues about having a username taken haha. however if it is taken for some reason i usually have a backup of some sort.

peggy hill or peggyhill are my go-to usernames most of the time and it will be a cold day in hell before they are unavailable
