tell me the water pokemon that could be given a legendary title and why?
 
Suicune: embodies the compassion of a pure spring of water. It runs across the land with gracefulness. This Pokémon has the power to purify dirty water.
Lugia: is said to be the guardian of the seas. It is rumored to have been seen on the night of a storm.
Kyogre: is said to be the personification of the sea itself. Legends tell of its many clashes against Groudon, as each sought to gain the power of nature.
Tapu Fini: The guardian deity of Poni, it can control water. People say it can create pure water that will wash away any uncleanness.

Suicune could be given the title of legendary without a doubt! It's such a majestic and elegant pokemon, and it has the ability to purify even the most polluted of waters. Quite impressive if you ask me. I also am of the belief that Milotic, despite having a pre-evolution, would indeed make a splendid legendary!
 
I've always treated Suicune as a legendary. I'd be surprised if it wasn't. And if we talk about Milotic then it is hard to not bring up Gyarados. It has the stats and it has the lore to make it one as well.

We should also not forget that there already are legendaries that are evolutions (think of the Cosmog line) so that doesn't need to be of concern.

well, I want to tell you that the pokemon which has higher stats than normal pokemon is called sodo legendry like dratni and evolution tree, garchomp and minor evolution they all have higher stats than the normal, every region has sodo legendries so milotic is also a sodo legendry! well, most of sodo legendry are mostly dragon type.......................
 
I want to bring up two other Pokemon that deserve a legendary status: Lapras and Wailord.

Lapras is actually already based off of a legend: the monster of Loch Ness. It's also really rare, potentially almost extinct. Especially when you look at the games, they usually give it to you in very specific ways. In gen 1 you can only get it as a gift and in gen 2 you only find it on fridays in a very specific spot in Union Cave. It's one of these Pokemon that shouldn't be legendaries because of strength or anything like that, but rather through lore alone. We should not forget that "legendary" doesn't imply "awesome worldforming powers".

Wailord may sound strange at first, considering that it is quite common. However, the main thing that makes Wailord special is its sheer size. Looking back into the past when the seas where a lot more unknown: if a sailor ran into one of these specimen for the first time they'd be terrified by this massive Leviathan.
And I think that term fits better to Wailord than it does to Kyogre (which is also based off of a whale albeit the Killer Whale and not the Blue Whale).

I also love his battle with Alain in the mega evolution special featuring Mega Blastoise.

I almost shared the exact same fate you described in a Y playthrough. If that Gyarados gets off dragon dances it can rip an entitre team apart. I didn't help that I had no electric move ready for it. I wanted to train heliolisk, but couldn't afford to carry it because of the tacked on normal dual typing as my team had a tendency to be weak to fighting moves. I was using a Florges with grass attacks for most water pokemon, but Gyarados' beastly attack, very high special defense and flying dual typing is a hard counter to that.

I was down to my very last pokemon a Pangoro, who did not have a favorable matchup. I brought him along, thinking he could help out against the steel user Wikstrom with a fighting type move. I thought I was sending him out to die against Siebold's Gyarados, but I was saved by Poke Amie. My Pangoro lived on 1 hp and I got a message saying something like he hung on for me and put on a tough face. Sometimes high affection will act like an invisible focus band, and allow a Pokemon to tank a hit it couldn't otherwise, among other things like increased evasion or higher critical hit ratios. I was just playing minigames with my Pokemon for fun, didn't foresee that an important battle would turn on this mechanic. I made a comeback solely because of my Pangoro's love. He was my hero. I wanted to throw my arms around my big, furry protector for that.

Definitely Milotic. Her name draws inspiration from Venus de Milo, the ancient Greek sculpture of the Goddess of love and beauty, Aphrodite. Venus is her Roman counterpart. If Milotic is based on a goddess then she is surely worthy of legend. Milotic is also said be able to purify a troubled heart, and appear in times of war and strife to move others, an bring and end to conflict with it's peaceful spirit. That's like a miracle performed by a saint or an angel from heaven.

Milotic is a prommon that is never found in the wild in it's native region Hoen, it has to be evolved from Feebas, which is also a rare pokemon that only appears on a couple of random tiles of water in a specific part of the region, and evolving it is a science. It will fail if you don't mix up the correct berry combination to max out it's beauty. Milotic has a special method of evolution unique to it, and it really underscores that this pokemon is something rare and magical.

Other water pokemon that I think could pass as legendary are Ash-Greninja, Lapras and Castform (rainy)

It would undoubtedly be Blastoise for me. His first stage is my favorite pokemon. He was my first choice back in generation one. My first level 100 mon. So much nostalgia associated with him. And cannons! He's got cannons coming out of his shell! How can you argue against that!
 
fave Water starter? Mudkip no doubt. soo many memories of wrecking house in Emerald when i first played it. i loved every minute of spamming Mud Shot and Surf at enemies and watching them all go down one by one :D it's quad weak to grass sure, but i always have a Flying type in my team anyway that it would render it a non-issue.

close second would be Oshawott, bcs it was only recently in my White playthrough a few years ago that i truly appreciated it.

your thoughts are similar to mine! relating Blastoise I also think the same as you! I even trade my Blastoise for my arcanine in the trade of fire red to sun and he was bashing in alola to everyone in his way got rip!

oh, swampert I have maximum chosen water stater in almost every region! except Sinnoh and Kalos. I have chosen mudkip in both ruby and omega ruby bashing the elite four! in fact, he is my second fav water stater!
 
Favorite starter:

Blastoise. What comes to mind is my very first play through. I got Pokemon Blue on my birthday the time it came out. The box art itself need a mention: Pokemon Blue has Blastoise on the cover and it looks really good!
On my first play through I picked Squirtle and played for a while. When I was told to go to bed I continued anyways in secret. I got to Mount Moon when Squirtle evolved into Wartortle. I did what a lot of people did: I played the game only using my starter. As a result I got Blastoise very quickly. I even learned that you can get Ice Beam which deals with Grass types and that made it even better.

I still remember a lot of the moves I tried out:
Bite, Water Gun, Bubble Beam, Skull Bash, Ice Beam, Hydro Pump. I remember especially how powerful Hydro Pump was. It sometimes missed and you could only use it 5 times but I didn't care. I used it anyway.

The final moveset was:
- Bite
- Bubble Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam

Yes, I used Bite until the end. It did the job, ok? xD

When I reached the Elite 4 Blastoise was level 75 which was more than enough to get through them easily.

Another thing I remember: when my Blastoise hit level 100 I kept on using it. Pokemon Red and Blue have this weird EV system that continues to give stats even if you don't see it. I boxed it and shortly after retrieved it again. Suddenly, my Blastoise had 30 max HP more than before.

I like the cannons, they make it look really cool. I'm sad that it doesn't use them in the newer (3D) games. I mean that's such an obvious thing, isn't it?
 
Favorite water starter? Empoleon!

1 - Design-wise, Empoleon's line is pretty much flawless. Piplup is the perfect cute little baby penguin (btw, blue penguins are a thing and they are the cutest), Prinplup is the epitome of awkward teenager (which is to me what the starters' middle evolutions are supposed to represent, as they are designed to "grow" with the player) and Empoleon is not only incredibly cool, but also draws inspiration from so many different places you gotta appreciate the effort put into it:
2 - Empoleon is based on an emperor penguin, but Game Freak took this a step further and made him a literal emperor, drawing elements from classical royal motifs. The trident on its head even symbolises Poseidon, the "emperor" of the sea.
3 - Water/Steel? Empoleon has 10 resistances and 1 immunity. It does have 3 weaknesses, but if you want Empoleon to live a super-effective hit, it will.
4 - Empoleon is one of, if not THE most versatile water starter. Empoleon can run special attacking sets, physical attacking sets with Defiant, bulk on both physical or special sides, and full support. Btw, it learns offensive moves of 13 different types.
5 - Empoleon comes from arguably the best generation starter-wise, much to its own credit. But if Empoleon was a starter from any other region, it would likely be 10 times more popular.

Also, I personally love Empoleon because I'm a huge fan of Pokémon Conquest and Empoleon is imo the second best Pokémon in that game after Chandelure, specially considering it's Ina's perfect link and her skill makes Hydro Pump land without fail.

thoughts about water Pokémon will be owner for a month and 2nd best will be sub-owner (temperory) because the killer red skull is no more sub-owner for 1 month

I hope you feel better Allen! You have been such an energetic and fun club owner that we will miss you on your vacation. But getting healthy again is what's important, so I understand.

Since a month is not very long you don't have to find a new owner. You can still be the owner, even if you need time away for awhile. But if you want someone to ask questions and talk about water pokemon while you are away then I am happy to stay nearby and help this month <3
