Those pieces of glass placed in front of your eyes

I wear glasses. I used to be the only one in my family with perfect vision but that went downhill fast when I discovered the internet. I have thin frames but I've been wanting to go to the store and pick up some thicker ones and wider lenses so I don't have to push them up the bridge of my nose all the time. I look like an anime character when I do that. All I need is the gleam of light to bounce off the lenses.

I wear glasses but I'm pretty tired of the ones I have now. I switched from black plastic glasses to wire-rimmed glasses and it was cute when I chose it but I quickly tired of it. I just don't think it's me. But my eyesight doesn't change quickly at all (in fact, it hasn't changed in years) so I have no reason to go spend money to get new glasses.

I've had glasses since I was eight or nine years old. My vision's bad enough to the point where I'm warned my lenses will cost more than normal since apparently they have to make them differently or whatever, so they don't get too thick. :P

When it comes to how they look, I prefer wire frames. Less noticeable, in my opinion, at least with the smaller models. If I wear plastic frames (never mind that I don't like the feel of plastic frames anymore), then I end up feeling like they're taking over the whole look of my face, and I get really self-conscious. :(

I have glasses but only wear them when I need to see an overhead menu/school blackboard or while driving. Other than that I'm always sitting around without mine on since I don't want my eyes to get too reliant on them. My vision isn't awful by any means but it can be a bit hard to see text and signs unless I'm close to them.

..at first I was skeptical to get them (around age 15) since I figured I'd look bad but they grew on me eventually and some people tell me I look better with them on, so they're a keeper. :D

I've had glasses since I was in middle school, and I was estatic when I finally got them. I was that weirdo that wanted glasses...

Sadly, I've been wearing the same pair for like 6-7 years. I finally get vision insurance next month, so I'll look into getting a new pair. The out-of-pocket costs should be minimal compared to 100+ to get an exam and new glasses without insurance.

Being an adult sucks sometimes. I miss my parents paying for glasses, haha.

I'm pretty grateful to not need glasses. I've got pretty great vision. However, as my parents have grown older, they found that they needed glasses, so I'll probably need them for reading or something one day. n_n

My vision sucks. I've been wearing glasses for like seven years, and by now they kinda feel like part of my identity, so I never really considered contacts. I actually like the thick, black-rimmed, hipster/nerd glasses on others (with the lenses of course), so that's something I might be considering for myself.

Yes, I wear glasses, and I've been wearing them for seven years now. It sucks that I have to wear glasses, but nobody in my family has never once in their life ever gone without wearing a pair of glasses at the same time.

I currently wear half-rimless frames right now, and I've had said pair of glasses for maybe only a week or so now.

I've had glasses since the second grade. My vision is HORRIBLE. Without my glasses I can't even read what's on my computer screen.
The glasses I have right now are black Ray-Bans, they look kind of like hipster glasses >_> I had awesome glasses that were black plastic, rectangular lenses, plain and simple, but I lost 'em at Disneyworld last summer. The Ray-Bans were the most similar looking ones, and the quickest replacements. But they're not the same :v

Yes, I wear Oakley prescription glasses. I like wearing them, but don't need them often. I mainly use them if I'm staring at a screen for a long time, or if I'm reading. I have perfect vision in my left eye but can barely see out of my right eye. They both balance each other out and I can see well overall. I like wearing them, the girls at school tell me I look more intelligent with them on. I started wearing glasses my sophomore year of high school, and haven't really had a need for contacts.

I wear glasses all the time bar when sleeping or when water is ending up on my head. My glasses have a thin almost-wire frame and rectangular lenses, there's no frame on the bottom half of the lenses. I much prefer this style to all the chunky ones out now.

Most of the people in my family have glasses but I'd say my eyes are probably the worst. I didn't need glasses at first but I have pretty rapidly deteriorating eyes so by eight I needed to wear them during school and by ten I needed them on full time. Thankfully the deterioration has slowed a fair bit but it's still happening. I'm so badly short sighted (near sighted) that I can't even see things that are close to me without them being blurred.

Been wearing them for about six years now. I love my current pair of glasses. So do many other people, apparently.

I've been wearing glasses since I was in first grade. I'm nearsighted and I learned that when my dad made me stand at the back door and try to read the eye chart on the fridge that we got in the mail. I couldn't read a single letter cause they were too far so the next day we went to the eye doctor.

I don't remember what brand or model I currently wear , but I can show you guys pictures.
Any excuse to post selfies
Spoiler:

As you can see in the pictures, they are thin on the frames and thicker on the temples. As a kid I preferred rounder glasses, but now I like square/rectangular frames more. Mine are pretty scratched up so I either need to get them repaired or replaced. I really like these so I'm hoping I can just repair them. Whenever I get new ones though, I'm still going with a black square/rectangle frame.

I've been prescribed glasses because the Army made me get them, but I have never wore them a day in my life. Right now my eye sight isn't that bad, just very distant objects are somewhat blurry, making it hard to read from a distance. I can still shoot a target at 300 meters sooooo I think I'm good.

Oh yeah these are what they look like. We called them Birth Control Glasses (BCG), but I was one of the last of the people to get BCGs, the Army gives out normal looking glasses now.

Ooh, why not. Here are my glasses. The frames alone cost a ton, jesus. o_o

[PokeCommunity.com] Those pieces of glass placed in front of your eyes

I can see why a lot of people like them, cause they're very cool imo. The red stripes make them stand out over other glasses like that. Maybe whenever I have to replace mine, I'll pick something similar to those.

How did I ever miss replying to this topic...?

Anyway, I've been wearing glasses ever since I was 11, so that makes it almost 10 years! I've gone through my fair share of the types of glasses that I wear as well, going from oval-shaped to large, obnoxious cover-one-half-of-my-face square frames XD But I find that the latter type definitely suits my face shape better. I also have a couple boxes of contacts that I haven't worn ever since ordering them this summer \: Initially I wanted to use them only for sports purposes, whenever I played badminton, but for some reason they kept falling out...Pretty sure it wasn't because my eyes were dry.

I've been wearing glasses since I was four-years-old, due to the genetic lottery. Pretty much my entire family line has bad eyesight. I don't really consider it a "loss" of the genetic lottery, since I prefer the way I and others look with glasses. My current pair is thin wire silver frames. Which is much better than my first pair: giant frames that took up my entire face.

I'm dreadfully near-sighted, and my left eye tends to cross over so I'm staring at my nose if I don't concentrate on it. My glasses don't help that problem.

I wear glasses because contacts are tiny little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s sent from Hell. I like the glasses I have now because I look really cute when they don't fall down off my nose. Speaking of that, no matter how many times I get them adjusted, they always fall off my nose. It's irritating.

I have glasses and have had them since age 4 or 5. My current pair are a pair of blue/black Flexon 4-way hinge glasses that cost me around $600 in total between the frame (and its magnetic pair of clip-ons) and the specialized lenses that have the reflective coating for driving. I tend to look for durable yet minimalistic frames, and this current pair has gotten me through almost 3 years, which is more than can be said of most of my past pairs, that have typically lasted no longer than 2.5 years.

I hate the huge pairs of plastic frames because I think they're impractical and look ridiculously dorky (as well as extremely cheap looking, even though I know people are paying an arm and a leg for those types of frames). I really don't understand why that style has been so popular.
