Twitch Plays pokemon

They got in the gym! And then they just walked out and jumped down that ledge after beating a trainer or two...

They're in yet again! Let's hope it lasts. It's only been 10 hours since they started trying to get in.

Aaaand we're out again. Seems like this is gonna be a vicious cycle with all the down spam happening at certain points. But oh well, no fun without a bit of challenge! ;) Hoping there won't be too much progress during school hours though hnggg
 
Vicious cycle is right. I'm hoping to see them bring down Giovanni since that'll be epic. But... problem is, I'll likely be sleeping when they do.

So Gen 2 confirmed? YAY! That's awesome. Hopefully it's Crystal. Gen 3 after that, maybe!

...is it possible to emulate a DS game with IRC chat commands like this? I'd imagine it's difficult but doable, although it'd likely be very buggy given how special the emulator would need to be. The two-screen thing may be a problem for this format also. XY is definitely not possible since 3DS emulators aren't functional yet, right?

so long as you didn't need any stylus stuff, ds would be doable. 3ds would have to be a hardware mod, which I don't think anyone will be willing to do.

With Shiny mechanics starting in Gen 2, I bet it would really cause the chat to stall as htis is a vary RARE opportunity...or the trolls wil just mess it up. XD
 
We're actually in the gym again for once ! I just saw Fonzie beat up another Nidoking with Surf! We're having trouble with the spiny titles. Now I know how evil Team Rocket truly are. What normally takes people like 10 minutes, is taking us almost a day.

What is it with Giovanni and spinny tiles? I'd imagine he'd get tired of cleaning all the puke up sooner or later, but apparently not :o

So, did we beat Giovanni, or did we just somehow manage to make our way down to route 1 again? I hope it's the latter, cause I really want to watch the final gym battle :(
 
No we haven't yet, just made it to Route 1 somehow. I think a lot of people want to go to Pallet Town for some reason. I'd love to see one Gym battle at least, cause I have yet to see one. So hopefully it doesn't happen when I'm in school.
 
Yeahh, after we beat Blaine, it seemed as though there was a split in where people wanted to go, so I imagine some want to go to Seafoam. At least it took us ages to actually get out of Pallet Town, since people kept pushing us downwards instead :p

I really don't want to go to Seafoam though. It's gonna take ages to solve the puzzle to get to Articuno, and if we eventually do it, the probability that we either run away or knock it out is much higher than catching it, so it'd be a lot of time wasted. Not to mention the return trip :( So yeah, better not head there :p

I know it'd still be Gen I so it would produce a lot of sameyness, but I'd like to see TPP do Pokémon Yellow even if just to see the struggle catching and training a pokemon to get the first badge. It'd be funny seeing them release Pikachu or over-level it like Bird Jesus too. Plus they can get another helix fossil that way.

I'm sure it will be fun regardless of which game they move on to. I'd like to see a three day period to catch Mewtwo and/or Articuno before moving on though.
 
GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!! Ugh...I feel like kicking something at the moment...maybe a crumbly ledge? I missed every single Gym Leader battle live (and the Fighting Dojo doesn't count much)...the more irritating ones are:
-Koga, because I actually had to sit through most of the arduous trek from Lavender Town to Fuchsia City, followed by the moment where Red defeated one Fuchsia Gym Trainer and fainted near the Fuchsia City Pokemon Center due to Pidgeot's poisoning in the overworld.
-Sabrina, because she was supposedly the "toughest" Gym Leader in Red/Blue/Yellow due to the Psychic-type Pokemon being overpowered, yet we swept her as if we were just breezing through her Gym
-Blaine, because I sat through the highly monotonous 1.5 hours when we were stuck in a 2-square-wide corridor because of a table and a conniving Burglar, having to resort to fainting Red's whole Pokemon party to escape..
-Giovanni, because I sat through the first 2 attempts of when we entered the Gym after hours of work and promptly made some weird hasty exits.. Also, this battle was apparently quite the show.. The real kicker is that, unlike most of the other Gym Leader battles which seemed to be in the middle of the night for me, I could've potentially seen this one if I woke up just a little earlier.

Sigh...all that viewing time expended seeing Red bumbling around, and now it feels like there's no payoff. Yeah, there's probably going to be YouTube uploads, but the experience isn't the same as witnessing the event live, especially after having to slog through all the boring parts (particularly the Pokemon Mansion "imprisonment" uneventful Viridian City wandering).. ARGH! Why couldn't we be stuck in Viridian Gym for just a few hours more? >.< I'm not even that excited to see the Elite 4/Champion battles now, because I'll probably miss those, too, what with all the likely blackouts in Victory Road. This "school" thing had better pay off.. T_T Ugh, now I don't even get to hear [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9OO5VAKk0d8"]"Battle! VS Gym Leader (Kanto)" (Red/Blue variant)[/ame], due to the Elite 4 using the standard Trainer theme in Pokemon Red/Blue Versions; just watching one live Gym Leader battle would've sufficed for me!

On a side-note, congratulations to the chat/mob catching Zapdos with a Master Ball; I surely thought that we would waste our Master Ball on an unfitting non-legendary wild Pokemon like Caterpie! Special mention goes to lost Pokemon like DUX the Farfetch'd (with Cut), BigDig the Raticate (with Dig), and Cabbage the Gloom (the latent Seed of Hope), who were sadly released in the post-Zapdos exodus.

And I guess congrats for finally beating Sabrina, getting to and beating Blaine, and finally getting to Viridian Gym and trouncing its Gym Leader..

Anyway, onwards to Victory Road..I guess?

Also, the Misty "meme" in the chat struck me as odd.. On a side-note, has anyone who's played Red/Blue know if you can Fly to a city/town if you've just visited the city/town but haven't used its Pokemon Center yet? I know it's possible in Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald, but this thing became an issue when we approached Fuchsia City before..

If I remember right, you just need to visit the city once to use Fly.

Ugggh I missed seeing us beating Giovanni cause I was in English class. I missed all the Gym battles cause I was either not watching it at the time, in school or sleeping. :( I was able to witness us in Sabrina and Giovanni's Gym, but that's all. I hopefully can witness at least one E4 battle. I'd love to see use beat Gary and become the Champion. Seriously hope I'm not in school or sleeping when it happens. D:

Off to Victory Road then! I'm sure if the ledge near Giovanni's Gym was a challenge , then the Strength puzzle will be even worse.
 
I'm just shocked they were actually able to coordinate and teach a Pokemon Surf. I would have thought that was going to be their downfall.

Did you watch them when they tried to get past the tile maze in the Rocket Hideout in Celadon City? That was a nightnmare to watch ;____;
 
Man of course they would beat Giovanni while I'm not watching. Oh well. Maybe I'll get the chance to see them beat an Elite or something. Which they are probably going to have to it 3892 times before finally getting to Gary. And then just yeah that's gonna be fun to watch.

.... After they spend who knows how many days trying to get through Victory Road.

Y'know when people think of Gen II's difficult areas people are thinking of the Ice Caves. But before the Ice Cave I think there is one place that will be just as difficult (in TPP at least) and that's Morty's gym. Because hahah you have to go a certain direction or else BAM back to the beginning. :'D

Pryce's Gym will be a pain in the ass too.
