Today is my other birthday (a religous thing is a simplified way of describing it). It's an incredibly important day to me, the second most important day in the whole year after winter solstice.

I received a series of lovely messages wishing me well on my birthday from a very sweet friend. I actually can't believe they remembered, it was a long time ago I told them! It made me smile, but also cry!

If you read this, thank you again, it really meant a lot to me ❤️

I'm happy with how I managed to easily get back into chess after not playing much in over a year and a half.

I've won the last 4 out of 5 games that I've played over the last few days. I expected a complete regression in skill, but I actually feel better than ever intuitively.

Most importantly, I'm having fun with it.

I suppose it was yesterday, but I'm still thinking about it today so it counts.
Last night was my first time playing Marvel Rivals after bf and a couple of his friends got really into it, so I was invited to join them. I had a great time, and especially got along really well with his friends even though it was my first time ever meeting them and getting to talk to them properly. I thought I was doing decent at the game, but during our last match of the night one of his friends said something along the lines of "This team is great, it's like she was born to play Peni" and I ended up getting MVP for our team in a landslide victory. I'm not great at these games, so whenever I get a compliment from someone it really sticks with me.
 
Getting a nice meal at one of my favorite restaurants :)
 
I managed to upcycle a beautiful piece of slate that was broken in the last storm and repurpose it as a trivet for under my cast iron pot warmer. It looks absolutely delightful and I'm very happy with it! 😊
 
Now that the holidays are over, hip-hop dance studios are open again, and I can start my 2025 training season.
I may start a new thread over at the Art Studio forums to chronicle my progress. 😁
 
While this technically happened last night, I was too tired to make a post about it then. But I ate the first proper hamburger (double cheeseburger 'technically') I've had in over 12 years for dinner.
I ground up the meat myself, cut up some lettuce, a tomato, an avocado, 3 types of cheeses, multiple sauces, 2 types of pickles, and a classic sesame seed bun. After it was fully constructed it looked like something you'd see in an advertisement. It was picture ''''ing perfect.✨ Not something I'll have often, (like maybe 3 times a year at max) but it was wonderful getting to finally enjoy a burger again after such a long time.
