what made me smile even more was giving a kid a chance to hold one of my kites and see them fly one for the first time after their parents asked. they were in tears omg 🥹
 
I was able to set up my new laptop today, it was a late birthday gift and is a massive upgrade over my old PC (Dell Latitude E6410 -> Acer Swift Go 14). I liked the Latitude and its been my daily driver since I bought it in ~August 2023, but it's really exciting to have a "good" computer for once instead of 10+yo hardware.

I was talking with someone and that conversation led to me looking at photos I took while on a vacation trip several years ago. I went there to see a person who I no longer talk to, and they claimed I didn't care about them or never did anything for them. I didn't necessarily have a bad opinion about the photos, and I still kept them, but talking about them with someone else years later and talking about the things I liked, the things that were funny to me and the memories I made on my own during that trip really gave me a positive outlook on it and I had a really enjoyable time. I've always thought that I'm glad I went, despite how everything worked out between me and the person I went to see.

After getting a bootleg Jolteon, bootleg Leafeon, and bootleg Bulbasaur from a crane arcade yesterday, they came with good luck as well. I had an awesome lunch today, and my parents won big at video poker today. Oh, and I had permission to get Starbucks too today. Today is a good day thus far.
 
I love my bootleg Jolteon so much. She gave me the courage to tell my parents some heavy stuff...and they accepted my struggles with love and acceptance. That was yesterday. Also, won more plushies from a different crane machine. This time, Tom and Jerry those classics. Also, got Starbucks this morning, and a vegetarian crepe. Yummy.

Going to a dinner party later (super casual though), should be fun.

A friend of mine messaged me this morning asking how I've been doing because it'd been a while since we checked in with each other, and we'd been sharing our problems with each other about some pretty big stuff. It was really sweet of them and a really nice opportunity to just kinda unload what I've been thinking this past while because I wasn't even fully aware I was holding it all in. Honestly I planned to wait a couple months or so to talk to them but I'd prefer it this way.

I also decided to start trying to write something different, and ended up with about 8000 words just over yesterday. It's coming together pretty nicely, I'm just hoping I can finish it and it'll look nice once I'm done.

Was given 6 free strawberry plants today. A guy was coming to visit his grandmother who lives on my street. He and his friend are farmers and had some extra plants to share with folks in the neighborhood. I love strawberries, this is exciting! I hope they thrive in our garden.
