Casual Archipelago (Complete)

Sonic Adventure 2: Update 9

Now that we have the Emblems we need, we unlocked five more stages. Since Cosmic Wall requires Eggman's Jet Engine for all the checks, that left City Escape, Lost Colony, Dry Lagoon, and Mission Street, and I also did Pyramid Cave because I remembered that it's also beatable without the Bounce Bracelet, though I'm not skilled enough to get its Lost Chao mission without it. We also received the fifth Chaos Emerald, a gift from the Messenger, found on Tallon IV.

Our boss battle to unlock these stages was a Shadow Android, who, when destroyed by Sonic, was powered by a Piece of Heart that we sent to the Hero of Time. First up, we sent Sonic to City Escape, a region of San Francisco on Earth, to grab an Enduring Locusts upgrade. These will improve our Swarm Hosts should we get the chance to build any. Sonic also rescued a lost chao up on top of a skyscraper. Sonic also quickly traveled to Pyramid Cave again to collect a Golden Feather for Claire and an Icebrand Sword for FF12.

Next up, Dr. Eggman explored part of the Lost Colony Zone in the Space Colony ARK, picking up some Force Field tech for Protoss Sentries, if we ever get to train any. Sadly, the way further in is impassable so long as Eggman doesn't have his Jet Engine.

Third, Rouge traveled to the Dry Lagoon, an oasis in Egypt, and grabbed the tech needed to construct a Lurker Den, though this is useless until we get Zerg Hydralisks.

Finally, we sent Tails to Mission Street, in Federation-controlled Los Angeles, and got not only a Power Grip for the Mario Bros but a Shovel for Eevee. He also found a shield improvement for Protoss Adepts, which we can't train yet.

We also have the location of the seventh and final Chaos Emerald. It is located at Joke's End, in a block in a room northeast of Boiler Room 2. To beat this game, I will need the Mario Bros to retrieve it for me, as well as get Sonic's Flame Ring and twelve more Emblems to get the Chaos Emerald in Crazy Gadget. I will be able to hint for the Flame Ring after twelve more checks in Sonic Adventure 2.

Enemy Within: Failed Attempt #1

We infiltrated a larva onto a Shelak Tribe Protoss vessel, evolved it into a Broodmother, and stole some Peanuts for the Messenger to eat. That being said, I can definitively confirm that this level is unbeatable without Zerglings, and the Protoss here killed said Broodmother after she stole the Peanuts. The Mario Bros can find the Zerglings burrowed under the Gwarhar Lagoon Pipe Room Digspot, but they're not a high priority. They only unlock six optional checks, and I can beat the entire rest of the game without them.

Sonic Adventure 2: Update 10

I checked through all the unlocks that PopTracker says are technically gettable with sequence breaking, and found that I could pretty easily get through Mad Space if I could get Rouge out of the spherical meterorite's gravity without the Iron Boots. Once that was done, I got three more checks in Mad Space, including beating the first mission, but none of them had anything but consumables. Still, it's better than Doom ammo that I already have at its cap, at least.

Just gotta ask if this is like on pause now or something lol. Cause it's been a bit since there's been any updates from people.

[PokeCommunity.com] Casual Archipelago (Complete)

I've still been opening the multiworld tracker and regularly checking in every morning if there's anything open to me, but I believe I'm still walled off. I'd like to proceed, I just don't think I'm able to right now.

Not strictly on pause. Likely takes a backseat at the moment with the more time-sensitive nature of the other game. Wraps up Team 1's game pretty soon, by the looks of it. May see some checks trickle in then. Could also be blocked too.

Ought to cash in a hint, because why not?

@Setsuna Magic Mirror at Enemysanity 132 - Fake Grant in Symphony of the Night

Realizes you cannot get it now, from what you said. Keep it in mind, though.

Same here unless there's something extremely obscure I don't know to do.
Though... I suppose under the cercumstances as they are, I guess I can buy the rest of the keys I need in Z1 to hopefully bump progression. I didn't want to have to do that normally, but given the fact that 2 are running at once, I can make an exception.

Edit: Turns out I was even more gated than I first thought. I was only able to get two more items, and I know at least one of them was not very useful.
On a related note, I'm learning very quickly how much I actually hate the stepladder lol. I had no idea so much of the game was blocked by impassable 'rivers'. Not sure if I'm at the point where I'll just start spawning with it or locking it to my game yet or something, but I might get to that point eventually if I make Z1 a constant.

I should be finished with my remaining game in the Hexipelago tonight or tomorrow, and at that point I can move back to playing this game.

Doom II: Hell on Earth
Mission 4/32: MAP20 Gotcha!

This mission, we sent several Doom Marines to the castle that held Earth's primary Hell Gate, surrounded by a lake of deadly blood, and took the entire castle in one go. We lost several Doom Marines but the reward was very, very worth it. Most importantly, we found a pair of Shovel Claws for Arcaneum's Knuckles, but also a Blue Neon Egg for Mario and Luigi. For the FF12 party, we found another Pinewood Chop, a Longbow, and some Black Bolts. Finally, we found some Natto (branded "Natou") for the Messenger as a snack, and only lost a single Doom Marine to get it.

We also received quite a lot of new tech for our own armies as well, plus another keycard for a level we don't have. Our Medivacs can heal two targets at once now thanks to the Advanced Healing AI we found, and our Swarm Queens are now cheaper to grow. We also found a Cyberdemon and Spider "Mastermind", tricked them into fighting each other, and used their armor plating to figure out how to make Ultralisks better armored, though this won't be useful until we can construct Ultralisks.

With the hellgate secure, we have definitively cut off Earth from Hell, cutting the demonic forces in half and preventing them from reinforcing different fronts.

Doom II: Hell on Earth
MAP08 Tricks and Traps, Pt. 1

Our Doom Marines attacked the DuGalle Memorial Spaceport's main docking facility, hoping to take it entirely and allow us to more easily land troops on Earth. We were unable to fully secure it as the west and northwest spacedocks were locked and require keycards, but we have obtained a large amount of items from the remaining 75% of the facility.

First off, we found the key to open the Mt. Erebus exit, and we also found the keycard to the remaining section of The Factory. We also found some Gauntlets, for the FF12 party, and a Deku Shield for the Hero of Time. For the Messenger, we found a Crystal Cloak and a Pot Roast to eat, and sent both to Dracula's Castle. We also found a Heart Container for the Red Magician, and a Piece of Heart for Alex's LttP Link.

We also found several items for our SC2 armies. First, and most importantly, we found some Superior Warp Gates to triple the amount of charges our Warp Gates can hold. We also got improved armor plating for our Warhounds, and some additional Vespene Gas. We also found zerg DNA samples to give Infestors the ability to use Microbial Shroud, and make Banelings heal our units rather than harm them when they explode, though the former are unbuildable for now and the latter are only summonable by Maar's ability until we can obtain the units themselves.

Finally, we graffitied everything here we could to get 8 REP for the Bomb Rush Crew.

Doom 1
Mission 8/36: Mt. Erebus

With the new key, we sent a Doom Marine to unlock the locked door in Mt. Erebus, leading to the exit teleporter and nothing else. Mt. Erebus is now completely secure.

Doom II: Hell on Earth
Mission 5/32: MAP12 The Factory

We also sent two Doom Marines to the Factory to get the last few items and fully secure the base. Our first Marine got a Diamond for the Messenger, but was shot to death by one of the very last enemies remaining, so we sent in a second to kill the last three and get a Purple Chaos Drive for Arcaneum's chao. The Factory is, at long last, secure.

Starcraft 2
Mission 29/83: Rendezvous

With Korhal now vulnerable, we hit it with a massive Zerg assault. Maar led the initial attack mostly with his Primal Zerg ability and wiped out all the Terran bases prior to our reinforcements' timer, and picked up a pair of Hard Pants for Mario from a cave along the way. We then unleashed a massive army of Zerglings against the Federation headquarters on Korhal, destroying it utterly and seizing its Hyperflight Rotor blueprints. If we get Banshees, this will make them faster than usual.

Korhal is now ours. Once the shining capital of the Terran Dominion, now a wasteland. Perhaps we can reforge it into what it used to be.

Starcraft 2
Mission 30/83: Smash and Grab

We found the home base of the Daughters of Shakuras, which we tipped off to the Federation since we'd rather they fight each other than us. We still did a quick raid with a lot of Marines plus Mercs, walked past the Protoss base with Time Stop, and hit the Stone Zealots with Hyperion bombardments. It had a Platinum Sword for FF12, a Small Key to the Palace of Darkness, and finally a Piece of Heart from a dead Stone Zealot. We then left and let the Federation's Zerg wipe out these protoss supremacists.

Starcraft 2
In the Enemy's Shadow, Failed Attempt #1

I sent Nova to raid the residence of the Koprulu Federation's president, the Mar Sara Magistrate, and we obtained a lot of checks, most of them holding junk. To progress further in this mission, we will need the Blink ability, which I've hinted for, and which is found at RNO4 - Alucard Shield in Setsuna's SotN. This only unlocks four checks, so it isn't a high priority. I can also unlock three of those checks with the Domination Visor, which I haven't hinted for.

Of the items we did get, we found Orbital Strike tech to allow our Terran infantry to deploy anywhere on the map, and we also found Heartline Twister Coaster blueprints for Devalue's park. A guard also left his lunch, a Shortcake, on a plate by the entrance so we stole it and sent it off to Dracula's Castle as an up-front payment for our Blink ability. Nobody had to die to get these snacks, this time.

[PokeCommunity.com] Casual Archipelago (Complete)

I'm glad stuff you've been hinting for are in my worlds, especially SotN! Both of those are pretty late-game checks, I'm gonna need a handful of stuff before I'm able to pick those up, but rest assured I've seen both yours and Devalue's hints and I'll be prioritizing those first thing once I'm able to!

SotN is still sorta closed off for me until I get my Soul of Bat, which I assume depends on unlocking the Refinery for DM1. I'd also love to run !hint for my Gravity Boots, which will effectively give me the same access, but I'm cursed to be 1 hint point short of what I need, with no checks open to me. It's an awkward situation, but one I should mention to you guys, if I haven't said it up-front earlier. Just good to communicate.

Decided to make a general progress post. Serves as a good refresher after Hexipelago and to make sure nothing new became available without realizing.

Eevee to the Past

Currently blocked. Needs to beat 2 of the remaining 3 dungeons. Lacks some items to do so.
  • Misery Mire: Bombos (possibly locked behind the Magic Mirror)
  • Turtle Rock: Ether
  • Swamp Palace: Flippers and the Magic Mirror
  • Trinexx (a likely boss...somewhere): Ice Rod

Knows where the Flippers (Halls of the Damned (E2M6) Backpack) and Magic Mirror (Fake Grant in Symphony of the Night) are.

Seeks more general items for the final fight versus Ganon too. Includes Progressive Swords, Progressive Mails, Bottles, Pieces of Heart / Boss Heart Container, Magic Upgrade (1/2), and possibly the other Progressive Bow. (Could technically beat Ganon without Silver Arrows. Refuses to try without way more resources.)

Open RCT2

Almost done. Completed all the goal requirements except plunking down a Giga Coaster. Awaits someone finding that.

Cannot access the remaining 6 checks. Needs Chairlift, Mini Golf, or Mini Roller Coaster for more. Potentially needs other rides for checks beyond that, but probably not.

Slay the Spire

Completed.

My general progress post:

Starcraft 2:
Almost all my maps are clearable, I can beat this game and !release tomorrow morning if I wanted, but I'm going for completionism and don't want this to end prematurely. I'm currently sitting at 40% completed, with the 266/662 checks I've obtained so far being the most checks any of us have gotten in a single game thus far. I'm at least two missions away from reaching any specific mission anyone needs, but a couple of missions are still very hard to beat, though technically possible. Arcaneum's hinted Air Necklace is, though not in one of those missions, blocked by two of them and the mission I need Nova's Cloak to beat. I am considering trying to beat The Essence of Eternity with what I have, to get it.

I am almost completely in Go Mode, waiting only for Zerglings, Nova's Blink ability, and Terran air units to get the last ten available checks I can't reach yet. Everything but the Terran air unit, of which I have several options and simply need to wait for one to show up sooner or later, is hinted for, the Zerglings being in Mario and Luigi, in Gwarhar Lagoon, and Nova's Blink being in Castlevania wherever the Alucard Shield normally is.

I've attached my Mission Grid below. White text is completed missions, Blue text is available missions, and Dark Gray text is missions I haven't yet completed because I haven't beaten an adjacent mission. Green background is a Terran mission, Orange background is a Zerg mission, and Blue background is a Protoss mission. (Excluding The Infinite Cycle, which should be a Zerg mission, but is marked as Protoss.) The two missions I am hard-locked from completing are Enemy's Shadow and Enemy Within, and I have exhausted all available checks from both missions.

Into the Void is my goal mission, and it, Amon's Fall, Salvation, The Essence of Eternity, End Game, and The Reckoning are all the missions I'm not confident in my ability to beat but are technically possible. Most of these also have very few checks, maxing out at five, and the worst, Amon's Fall, only has one check.

Spoiler: Starcraft 2 Mission Grid

Doom 1 and Doom 2:
I am blocked in both of these games until I get more levels or Keys. Each of these opens up new areas and I have a weapon to clear almost everything with, though I'll need a Rocket Launcher for Icon of Sin in Doom 2 specifically.

Doom 1 has 17 different level unlocks and 40 different keys, and I'll need all of the former and the vast majority of the latter to win.

Doom 2, similarly, has 18 level unlocks I don't have yet, and 34 different keys I don't have. I'll need all of the former and the vast majority of the latter, just like Doom 1.

Sonic Adventure 2:
Like the Doom games, I'm currently completely blocked here as well. To unlock more checks, I need more items for characters, these being:
  • Sonic: Bounce Bracelet and Flame Ring
  • Tails: Mystic Melody and Bazooka
  • Knuckles: Mystic Melody, Sunglasses, and Air Necklace
  • Shadow: Flame Ring and Mystic Melody
  • Eggman: Mystic Melody and Jet Engine
  • Rouge: Mystic Melody and Iron Boots
In addition to every character's pair of progression items, I also need 12 more Emblems to unlock the missions Prison Lane, Crazy Gadget, Wild Canyon, Pumpkin Hill, and Sand Ocean, plus 3 more (total 15 more) for Cannon's Core. There are two more Chaos Emeralds I need to complete my goal, one of which is in Crazy Gadget, necessitating twelve emblems and the Flame Ring at minimum, and the other of which is in Joke's End in Mario and Luigi.

Since we're doing general updates.

The Red Magician is 100% done with Levels 1-3, and also grabbed any reachable overworld checks and anything reachable in the remaining Levels I have access to. The biggest roadblocks currently are the dang Stepladder and a sorce of Fire. (preferably a candle) I won't quite be in 'GO mode' with just those things, but I will be able to full clear most Levels with them.

As for ALttP, I still can't get into Ice Palace because the game was a jerk and locked the entrance behind the mega bomb wall... >.> But I do finally have access to every other dungeon, the main problem there, is my total lack of keys. Beyond that, I need my red Cane from PK's game and my Hammer from one of Arc's. I also need my Mirror, but I don't recall who's world it was in at the moment. Nothing else really comes to mind as 'super important' beyond those things for now, but I'll update as time goes on.

Doom 1
E3M7 Limbo, Pt. 1

Arcaneum's Rouge tipped us off to a portal to Hell located in the Dry Lagoon, and we sent a squad of Doom Marines to check it out. The area in Hell it lead to was a temple of dangerous blood lakes called Limbo, and strangely has very few demons residing in it.

We need three keys to progress here, but our first Doom Marine still found some items. First off, a Pinewood Chop for FF12 just inside the entrance, then a Magic Upgrade and Big Key to the Swamp Palace for Alex Fox's LttP, and finally some better armor for our Siege Tanks sitting in a giant pentagram next to a set of four Cacodemons. These Cacodemons killed our first Doom Marine after he ran out of bullets, then the second Doom Marine after he ran out of bullets, but the third Doom Marine triumphed, and left Limbo behind until we get more keys.

I've also hinted for more weapons. Doom 1's Rocket Launcher is in PoryKid's Beanbean Castle Town, wherever Beanstone 1 normally is. Likewise, Doom 2's Super Shotgun is also in Mario & Luigi, requiring something called "Badge Shop Mom Piranha Flag 1". Doom 2's regular shotgun is in the mission End Game, where we're going next in Starcraft.

Doom II: Hell on Earth
MAP16 Suburbs, Pt. 2

We got the Blue Key to this level from the Bomb Rush Crew, so a single Doom Marine opened the level's locked door, killed two Spectres, and picked up a pair of Peasley Slacks for Mario or Luigi in the room. This also opened a teleporter to a pillar with the level's other items, a Game Boy Horror SP for Mario and Luigi, and a Demon Mail and Astrakhan Hat for FF12.

Starcraft 2
Mission 31/83: Breakout

We sent a single Ghost, the mercenary leader Graven Hill*, to scout the prison planet New Folsom, where our allies in the Eggman Empire had launched a separate attack to take the planet entirely. Our single hero unit turned the tide of battle with his cloaking ability, and painted the target for four tactical nukes at the main Federation base, and found an Emblem for Arcaneum's SA2, some Aqua Shot for FF12, and most importantly a Magical Shield for the Red Magician in a Federation Siege Tank garrison. And now, we can go try and get those Shotguns. (And if we succeed, also the Air Necklace.)

*Subbing in for the deceased Gabriel Tosh, and I am really scraping the barrel of SC2 Terran characters here. If I do another Archipelago, I am not writing sequels to these two again.

Oh that Emblem is so huge you don't even realise - I am very close to unlocking some more levels I believe.

Can't remember much of what happened other than my OoT save got wiped so I had to re-do a load of stuff on it :))))))))))

Managed to blast through a fair few SA2B levels and checks within them, which was super nice. OoT I am struggling a little to get going, I need adult mode so bad but I know where the three spiritual stones are now... I just have to somehow beat the Spirit Temple...

And FF12 I need to figure something out, because I made a new rando for Hexipelago and as a result I believe it overwrites any existing rando data... meaning all my items and stuff are going to be incredibly fucked in this one. I think I know the fix, just gotta do it!
