Lechonk and Smoliv, what side are you on?

These two were revealed in the latest trailer and have been the source of a lot of memes. One is a chonky little pig and the other an anxious smol olive plant.

So here's the question: are you on the Lechonk side, or the Smoliv side?

Lechonk is cute but I rarely tend to use normal types. I might use it on my team early on though.

Smoliv is very cute and I think will evolve into the Gen 9 equivalent of Lilligant/Bellossom/Roserade.

As I am picking the Grass type starter and will have a Lilligant of either form on my team I could very well have a team of Grass types for Gen 9.

That said neither design is appealing to me. I'll wait and see if they have evolutions or not.

I m not a fan of any of those. But I like Smoliv much more than Lechonk.

Lechonk. I love the absolute unit, and normal is one of my top types. Heck, I've done normal type only runs in the past. Smolive I'd need to see some evolutions for or else it's just in the "generically cute and we have a ton of that" category.

Also since I just saw ReKoil's post: The plant is part Normal!? How is that Grass/Normal but all the other plants aren't part Normal?

That's a good question. The Deerling line is the only other grass/normal and it makes since as the only grass part of them is their antlers. Otherwise they're just deer.

Wow, I hadn't noticed this actually lol. Just checked the site and it's indeed grass/normal. Wonder what makes it normal and what the evolutions will look like to connect it to that type!

I'm also somewhat shocked that Smoliv is Grass/Normal. That's gonna take some getting used to for me, lol.

Smolive is cute. It's an olive pokemon. And it's a dual type with a rarely-used combination.

Lechonk is just a pig. And it has the single most common typing in the entire franchise. I'm not actually sure what people see in it.

I want to pick the Grass type starter, but Smoliv's face is asking for a hug. Lechonk is kind of generic for me because there are other Pokemon based on a pig/hog (Tepig, Spoink, Swinub). I know there are plenty of Pokemon based on cats or dogs, but I like cats or dogs more than pigs.

Smoliv is the cutest thing in the history of Pokemon, I love him. And my second playthrough WILL be a smoliv solo run.

Smoliv. Never cared much for pigs. Is not super interested in Smoliv either. Will likely catch neither for the main team.

Expects Smoliv to grow into something peaceful with branches. Cannot pass up "extending an olive branch". Thinks like an English speaker, however. May not have an equivalent expression in Japanese.
