Nicknames?

People call me Went or by my actual name/surname. I'm happy to have created my own nickname, tbh.

Although there's one friend who calls me Wentles so that's how my twitter handle came into being.

Angie was actually a nickname with which close friends call me. It's a more feminine and International version of my "dead name" (that isn't actually dead yet). Then this is embarrassing but actually cute, me and my parents have nicknames lol. That comes from when i was a child and those changed much with time. I m often called "lill" but that's a long story lol. I have some other nicknames based on my dead name, but i won't talk bout them lol.
Online, sometimes I go with the name Konicha which is a name I came up with starting from Shirona (Cynthia's name in Japanese), but trying to be more creative.

Pretty much all the variations of Anna depending on the person - as my boyfriend says, Anna is my "princess" name since it's more formal and elegant, whereas Annie is the princess behind the scenes, haha. Annie is my casual name!

For sentimental couple names, he calls me Princess, Clovey, Dolly, Celestia, as well as all the usual like darling, sweetheart, baby etc.!

With usernames I'm called Clover or Hyzen, they're the usernames I had for the longest time.

And weird family nicknames? There's a lot... Annie-bird, Elbow Anne (cause I broke my elbow when I was 7 and have a big scar), Anna Banana, Angie, Japanese, Dirty Knee (both from the rhyme "Chinese, Japanese, dirty knees, look at these!", no idea how that came to be 😅), Bung-Eye (due to scarring in my left eye... this one is very Aussie), and Angela, after Angela Merkal due to my German blood, and cause I'm a tough cookie or something 💪🍪

These are only some of the names!

i always get called zach attack and it's probably the only thing i am cool with getting called by people who aren't necessarily close friends of mine

and of course my close friends here call me zachu as well 😊

I go by Neb, Ben, and Benji. One person called me Benben for a while, but they turned out to be rather toxic. Just the thought of being called that again gives me shivers.

Online I'm fairly indifferent.

In real life I strongly prefer my actual name. I go through periods of feeling dissociative, so the simple act of calling me by name instead of tapping my shoulder or something can really brighten my mood.

Honestly, my real name is Kimberly. Only family calls me that. Online, I go by Kimi... and that's mostly what my friends call me. I've also been called Kimimimi by a friend which I find cute (the nickname duh!). I get called Auticorn a lot too, and that I don't mind since it's part of my identity.

Not gonna post my actual name for now lol, but There were really annoying kids in my school who wanted to, well, annoy me by calling me girl names bc of my last name, which they did annoy me (I had rage problems as a kid).

I've had friends online who called me "Cos" instead of Cosmega. My brother used to call me "Cosmetics" as a joke.

I always use a pseud online, and provide very little personal info. I'm cautious but also I see no reason to divulge any personal info unless we become friends.

Nope, no nicknames for me any more. People irl use my birth name, everyone else calls me by my chosen name, Dawn. Which is...fine. Nicknames are things that friends or close acquaintances give you, and I don't have any of those, so.

When I was in school all my friends called me by my last name, though. I think that might be because there was someone in my class with the same name as me, born the day after me, and my surname was shorter than theirs was. Although they had a nickname based on their last name as well, so idk. Kids are weird.

Friends call me Sam, I will respond to that or Milotic/Vom/Vision/however you want to arrange my username. Immediate family have dubbed me Mara, Bunny and Toot. I don't know why some of these things have stuck honestly *shrugs* relatives are curious folks.

I always use the nickname generator I do not have a lot of time to make them up. and it generates very good options

I will just advise that this is a thread for nicknames people give you, as opposed to presumably using a nickname generator for something like Pokémon :)

------------------------------------------------

Regarding nickanmes... haha... where do I even start. I have nicknames/aliases coming out of the wazoo, largely thanks to one friend in particular who I am certain comes up with something new every time.

Online is generally a lot easier in that I've managed to whittle down everyone but one area to using Arc/Arcaneum. IRL however... probably best to provide some context.

So back in the days of Xbox Live I used to go by the alias 'Shunsetsuzan' which in itself spawned nicknames such as 'Shun' and such. However one day me and a friend found out that someone else we knew mistook it for Shaun and Susan (apparently thought the et was French or something, go figure). Naturally that meant my friend decided that I simply have to be called Sue/Susan and every iteration of the names as well as anything that rhymes with them.

Then there's Scooby Doo and Scooby Sue, nicknames derived from Sue/Susan, and then well it's just cascaded from there to about 100+ names that just rhyme or tangentially relate to this.

In terms of my actual name, with it being Aaron I normally get called the following:

- Az/Azza
- Aron/Aggron (like the Pokémon, yes)
- Erin (because a variation of Aaron sounds like it)
- Bronski Beat (yes after the band and yes because my name has Ron in it)
- Aar1n (because Aar2n is cool)

So yeah... not sure how I haven't had an identity crisis yet!

My nickname is Serene. Serenity is my real name, but my family called me Serene for short ever since I was a baby.

There was a point when my friends called me Chris (my actual name is nowhere near Chris, which made the nickname all the more funny). It was an old inside joke back in middle school, and still some of them call me Chris to this day. My parents call me Nans, Nanners, Nay, and Nay Nay, all based on when my brother said my name as Nana when we were young. I don't like to go by my birth name as much anymore. Even before choosing a name for myself, I wouldn't reveal my given name online for privacy reasons. I usually called myself Chris online. My chosen name is Anthem, which pretty much everyone (other than my family, whom I have not told) calls me.

As for online, since I use the username RadEmpoleon pretty much everywhere now, I go by Rad.

Well... I recently decided I needed a less edgy-sounding handle to go by online. I didn't even hesitate; I chose the name of my Pokémon self-insert just like I did with my Star Wars one. It's the name of a star in the Orion constellation, the dimmest of the three stars in Orion's Belt yet one of the brightest stars in the sky. That said, I also picked it because of the mint plant, keeping the theme of Pokémon characters having plant names - and it contains the Japanese word for "red," my favourite color. It's the perfect name!

If there's any Pokémon Reborn fans here: No, this was in no way influenced by a certain Mintaka "Taka" Alcantara. I've been using the name since last year - way before it was revealed that Taka's full name was Mintaka. (Hell, I even temporarily changed my self-insert's name to fit in that edgy world before I decided it wasn't worth even going there.) Never, ever, EVER call me "Taka," by the way. I will sic El Mimi on you, and your static-filled hair will regret it.

My IRL name does not lend itself well to nicknames, except for cringe ones like rhyming ones (including a very famous example. >.<). So, nicknames haven't really come from it.

Many years ago, for long story reasons my first ex girlfriend and best friend called me by another name - Emma, and that was a common name to call me for years until she exited my life. Also, Emily or Em. The long story reasons come from my first name being similar to a best friend of hers. Thinking back on it, why have not just used my middle name? Oh well. It's all in the past now. I insisted on being called these names online, it can be ignored now. She long ago exited my life and left me heartbroken. I have no attachment to those names anymore.

Online, my most common username was perhaps Envy. I don't use it as much anymore. I prefer Harmonie now, as it's a fun term to describe my love for a wide variety of woodwind and brass instruments. On BulbaGarden I am known as Aulos, but that's a rare username for me.

soon you're welcome to call me 'Doc' 😎

... if I survive the coming months :why:

In middle school a substitute had confused two of the letters in my name to be one, and called me Duke. It spread like wildfire and I… kinda liked it. Once high school came around it faded into obscurity, more of an inside joke than anything to be honest. I get some nicknames here and there, mainly Candy. Albeit my name lends itself to some dirty jokes from high schoolers, but after high school I never quite seen others find nicknames for it.

There is one nickname I had from an old friend I lost contact with that I still treasure to this day, and it's Candy Can Can. Hoping they're doing well wherever they're at now. Kinda butchered their name on a similar fashion as well.

soon you're welcome to call me 'Doc' 😎

Believe in the me that believes in you. You got this in the bag!
