Will you go to prom with me?

Sorry, but I'm a little too old to go to any high-schooler's prom. I think all the kids would get creeped out by some old person coming to prom and someone would call the cops on me.

Eh, not like anyone would ask me anyway XD.

I never went to my school's prom. I've never been interested in anything like that I'm such an asocial bum. Never really had someone I wanted to go with either. And based on some of the other posts here, proms seem to be a mainly American phenomenon. Why is that?

I was with my ex-boyfriend at the time so thankfully neither of us had to go through the trouble of having to ask someone :P Although, he didn't do it in the most official way; we just looked at each other, and were telepathically giving each other our answers.
 
I didn't go to prom my junior year. My senior year, I went alone. Didn't ask anyone, and no one asked me. I hung out with some friends instead. Wasn't a huge deal at all.

I would've honestly been amazed if anyone had asked me on a date. I was never a social kid in high school, and the only people I halfway knew were girls (and afaik they were all straight). And I probably would've been too shy to do it if they'd asked. I'm 24 and I'd still be amazed if I was offered a date. High school me couldn't have handled it. .____.;
 
I've never asked any girls to prom myself, but i've been to proms for the private school I went to and have danced with other girls there. Even if I don't specifically hang with any one girl there, it's still a really nice time. :)
 
I don't even know if we have proms here in my place, I don't really care otherwise.
I'd never ask anyone if we had proms here, and if someone asks me, that's a big no.
 
I was going to ask someone to my high school prom. My first crush, actually. But I got beat to it. I wasn't mad, though, cause I didn't really care all that much, honestly. And the girl knew how I felt, and we were best friends anyways, so yeah. I went solo, and at the end of the day, I'm super glad I did. I didn't have someone weighing me down, and I had such a great time. le grinding was permitted, haha Honestly, prom is one of the few days of my life that I wish I could play on repeat forever.
 
I didn't want to go so I didn't go to either of them. I am 100 percent sure even if I did want to go no one would of asked me and I def would not of asked anyone myself lol. I don't regret not going though. That is something I know for sure I would of not enjoyed, especially not then ahaha.
 
I didn't go to prom. It was too expensive for me, and I didn't have a date. I think I went to Formal, though. I honestly can't remember. It's been six years.
 
I wanted to go to prom but never could. This year my ex was practically begging me to go to prom but I'm not going to go to prom with a freshman. Last year I really wanted to go with one of the people I had been dating but since we had broken up they all had new people to go with. My sophomore year I wanted to go with the girl that I liked who was a Senior but her and her friends wanted to all go together since they didn't have dates and it would be like the last time they would hang out before going to college. I wouldn't mind coming back in a year or two to go to prom with someone though.
 
I wasn't interested in prom. My ex boyfriend was in Kentucky at the time so he couldn't go. But that was alright, I didn't had any friends that went to our high school prom so why bother? xD
 
I went to my Junior prom alone lol.
However, my senior prom - oi vey.
See, I made a promise to my best friend that we would go to prom together if we hadn't found dates by the time we were seniors. We never did, because I was in the closet for the longest time, and..she actually had feelings for me.

Funny story - when I came out to her, she thought I was asking her out. Whoops.

Anyway, so, she started resenting me for it, and even told me that she had prayed for me to turn back. We stopped talking, but we still went to prom together. We had a fun time, regardless of her feelings for me.

(Side note, she's hence apologized for her behavior and we're friends again)
 
Wow, a lot of us seemed to go alone or not at all. I went alone this year and almost all of my friends had dates so it was kinda awkward (even though I had said no to someone - it probably would have been odd if he came anyway lol) since they were all taking photos and stuff together. But it was still really fun - we all hung out and me plus a couple of others went to a friend's house after and had fun. :)

Me too! I wasn't sure if it was a thing outside of my school but I'm glad to see other people use it ;)
 
I did not attend the Prom my first 3 years of high school, but I asked a girl I knew to prom my senior year and she said yes. I filled a balloon with glitter and a note that said prom on it and had her pop it with a needle in class. That's about as fancy as I get xD
 
I didn't go to prom. I was not out yet, the formal clothes are expensive, and according to my junior and senior friends it's usually pretty boring at my high school. So there wasn't much point in going.
 
I went to my prom with my girlfriend at the time. I didn't do it in an extravagant way though lol. Just asked her. I mean, I guess I didn't really even need to ask her since we were dating, but our relationship by that point was only about 3 months long. Idk, it was fun though :3
 
I went to prom this year because seniors aren't required to have dates. I went stag with my friends and it was pretty dang fun. I didn't expect to have as much fun as I did since I'm not a dance person at all.
