Do you still have the Pokémon merchandise from when you were young?

A lot of us have been into Pokémon for a long time now, and many have owned merchandise of some kind since those early days.

Do you still have the Pokémon merchandise/items from those days? This includes TCG, game copies, plushes, figures, magazines, whatever you may have owned at the time. How much of it do you still have?

Most of it! I gave almost all of my non-TCG/VG stuff to my cousin when I started middle school, but got most of that back and then some when he "grew out of Pokémon." A few things off the top of my head that I wish I still had include a Squirtle candy catcher, a talking Mew plush, and a Kellogg's Hoothoot spinning top, plus a few cards I traded or gave away (namely Neo Genesis Meganium 11 and Typhlosion 18).

Games and handhelds I always keep.
As for my brief period of TCG, I honestly dunno. Maybe it's in a box somewhere, or maybe it all got sold or given away by my parents =p
I'm pretty sure I still have a bunch of Pokemon marbles from back when I was in elementary school though... dunno why those came to mind 🤔

I still have the sticker album with scenes from the first season of the anime and a Mew and Marill Tomy figures that say their anime cries when you move their tails. Don't know if this was official merch or knock-offs but I still enjoyed them at the time and now feel nostalgia about them.

This was all from back in the 2004 (maybe 2003) I think since that's when the Pokemon anime and any merchandise around it first came to my country/town. And I also still have a couple of VHS tapes with Pokemon movies, the first movie (with Mewtwo and Mew) and the third one (with Entei) and both had a Pikachu short before the movie but I only remember the one with Pichu bros.

Yes. Lurks in various storage tubs. Stored the games with all the other games of that system. Stuck all the cards together with maybe an odd or end in there. Smells strongly of plastic in the tub with the figures. Finds a Gengar plushie in the closet, waiting to jumpscare anyone looking inside. (Okay, not technically. Sounds good thematically, though, right?)

Damn right I do. When we finally cleaned house for good I kept everything that wasn't legit decomposing lol.

Actually, after giving it more thought, I'm not so sure I've still got "most" of my childhood non-TCG/VG merch after all. Missing my Clefairy calculator, Marill backpack/lunchbox set, and ThinkChip Wartortle, traded my BK Sandshrew and Mewtwo toys and tossed my Pikachu plush when the highlights of its eyes scratched off and mini Mew Poké Ball figure when its tail came off (excluding Mewtwo, these have been replaced since), left my BK Slowpoke launcher in the car when Dad traded it in for another vehicle, broke half of my Pokémon jelly jars, lost a TCG strategy guide to the washing machine and a Beckett magazine when it fell apart from overuse and Mom threw it away... Taking a look around my room, very little of my non-TCG/VG stuff came from my own childhood collection.

I did keep most of mine myself! Though sadly I've parted ways with a few plushes and books since my parents' friends' kids came over some years ago and really wanted them. Do miss them a lot, but they had more use in the hands of children who were big fans of the franchise. I am a little upset about it since I feel like their parents (intentionally or not) pressured me into giving them away because I was the adult and they were the kids, but oh well haha. The memories I made with them will always remain.

Missing my Clefairy calculator

Clefairy calculator?! I had no idea this existed, I'm jealous even if you don't own it anymore!

Yep! There was also a Bulbasaur pencil sharpener and Pikachu stapler. I remember a classmate in elementary school having the Bulbasaur, and I'm thinking for some reason he gave it to me, but I don't have it now so idk. Got the Pikachu from my cousin's collection, but it doesn't work anymore.

EDIT: Looking into more items, something also seems very familiar about the Vileplume pencil sharpener.

All of it. I'd never get rid of my Pokemon merch. I still have the boxes of the d/p macaroni and cheese. I cut the back covers & kept them.

Almost all of it! I've got a lot of Gen I figurines and some Gen II ones as well, two toy Poké Balls to put them in, a little Pokédex, a Pikachu-themes Rubik's Cube that I no longer use, my old tattered bootleg Pikachu plush, a Gen III sticker album, a couple posters and both playing cards and official TCG cards. The only things I got rid of were my VHS tapes of the first few episodes of the anime and the first movie, and I don't regret it because I'm not a big fan of the early seasons.

Nevertheless, the merch I prize the most, I got as a young adult. I keep my old stuff stored for nostalgia and just in case I can pass it down to my kids, but I keep more recent stuff like my collection of Ghost-type Pokémon cards, my pendants and my game carts within reach.

The Pokemon mini collection took about a year of on-and-off purchases. I was able to obtain the rarer games by importing them from Japan, which is far less expensive than purchasing them on sites like eBay in the west, where people try to sell them for far more than they're worth. In terms of e reader cards, I have almost all of the colosseum ones and am currently collecting as many promos of the other battle e sets as I can because they are all quite rare. I've also been importing those from Japan because they're much cheaper.

Some of it. I don't know where most of my stuff from back then went. The majority probably lies in some random boxes and bags in my mother's house.

I still have some cards, some really old ones like the original base set. I still have an old plush Raichu that wasn't originally mine but it ended up just locked away among some old stuff that nobody cared for so it found its way into my collection. I don't remember where all the toys and stickers and stuff went. I once had a gummi ball with a tiny plastic Dragonite inside. The ball broke at some point but I definitely still have that tiny figure that was inside...

I think if I didn't have my on and off phases I would probably had some more of my old stuff lying around.

Other than a ton of cards, I got a Mienshao plushie for one of my birthdays around the time BW came out. I also have a Absol plushie laying around somewhere in my parents' house.

I've literally got my original Pokemon Handbook from 1999 sitting on my computer desk beside me, so safe to say I still have some fairly old stuff in my collection. I've also got the original Tiger Pokedex toy (which says it came out in 1998), and a fair number of cards from the original TCG Base Set (including some error cards which were only in the first print of the set outside of Japan).

this thread makes me wish i didn't throw away any of my strategy guides, because i think those out of everything else were the source of some amazing memories from back then. helped establish some great friendship and moments with irl friends that i won't forget.

I have a lot of things from childhood, and plenty of games. I recently organised a lot of my things and photographed all the Pokémon related things I have. Even made a little blog to share it on, but I won't share it here because I don't think advertising is allowed.

But some of the things I own are really cool, and probably too much to list here...but I have multiple Wizards of the Coasts sets of trading cards, Pokémon Mini (and every English Pokémon Mini release), Pocket Pikachu color (two of them), manga (one of them is Japanese), many video games, and even various promotional flyers from events.
