    How likely are you to introduce yourself to new people? Let me tell you, I am not...
     
    I'm ok with introducing myself up to the point where people ask what I do for fun/my hobbies. Because I don't want to say I just spend too much time on a Pokemon forum (nor do I want to say I play video games out of fear of sticking out awkwardly), I say instead that I go for walks at my local park and read up on tech stuff and read books.

    I haven't gotten much more creative on those answers. Need to to work on that.

    I am VERY likely to introduce myself to new people. I'm too chatty for my own good sometimes. At parties, for instance, I have a habit of completely abandoning my friends and talking to/befriending strangers. I also try to chat a LOT with customers at my work /or others individuals who work in customer service because I know those types of jobs can get a tad stale at times. I'm also a chronic over-sharer!

    I've never much had a problem introducing myself, but I think a lot of that depends on whether or not they initiate conversation first, you know? I don't have social anxiety but I do tend to run on the general basis that if I'm not being addressed, I don't need to volunteer information.
     
    A lot less likely than I ought to be. Can't connect as much as I need to because of it.
     
    I've been trying since time immemorial, but
    a) my first language is English, which isn't the first language of most people around me
    b) I'm really awkward because I don't have anyone to practice with because I'm awkward... notice the cycle
     
    I'm particularly good at avoiding people. If I do find myself in a position where I have to initiate a conversation it's usually done after a lot of research. Gotta sound competent, after all.

    Well, it would be cool if that's how it works, but so far luck hasn't really been on my side. :laugh-squinted:
     
    I'd probably do some witty joke or comment and then get to know the person's name and introduce myself. Find conversation topic and just start talking with 'em
     
    Given most of the time when I introduce myself it's in a political setting my usual introduction is "Hi there, my name __ __" and then follow with a firm handshake. How it proceeds from there depends on the response I get.
     
    I usually don't have much reason to introduce myself to someone as I don't frequent social settings like bars or clubs but I do my best to be personable and keep the conversation going when someone starts talking to me, unless they're trying to sell me something.
     
    I probably did the most introducing myself back in college, but aside from that I can't think of many social situations where I may be alone and would have to introduce myself. If I'm part of a group or with mutual friends, being introduced is a lot more comfortable, and I'm not likely to strike up conversations with complete strangers.
     
    Not likely at all. "Let's go around the room and introduce ourselves" back in college makes me shudder to even think about, and I dunno if I've ever introduced myself to friends of friends more than just saying my name when meeting them for the first time unless prompted. Hard enough to convince me to meet new people to begin with, lol. You'll generally need to ask first to get anything more than my name out of me. Such is the life of a shy girl. ):

    I don't exactly like introducing myself, however I feel I'm okay at it when needed.

    The worst came when I had moved schools which meant a new bus stop of kids I didn't know. I introduced myself and received a middle finger.

    Yeah I've got no problem introducing myself to someone and quite enjoy it. I travel solo a lot so I like to make new acquaintances along the way. Will stay in hostels like 90% of the time too so that's always a good setting for just randomly starting a conversation with someone since there's usually a common area.
