6th Gen ORAS anniversary

3. I chose a mudkip as my starter. I wasn't really sure what I should name it, so I just chose a random name: Perry, and it stuck.
 
1. Did you get Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire the day they came out?
No I didn't get Omega Ruby on the day it came out, though I did get it a couple days after the release date.
2. What was your reason for choosing OR or AS over the other?
Ruby was the first Pokémon game I ever beat, so by the order of nostalgia I got Omega Ruby.
3. What did you nickname your starter?
My starter was a Mudkip which I named Slappy 2 since the original Slappy was from Ruby, so I named it that in honor of Slappy.

Na not this time. I'm usually not creative with nicknames anyways.

I nicknamed mine Swampman. I normally go for the Water starter, and since Swampert is a Water/Ground type, I think of that episode of Courage the Cowardly Dog with the swamp guy who kidnaps Murial and intends to make her his swampwoman, so that's sort of where the idea for the nickname came from.

Yes and I got the Pikachu to prove it :3

Yes I did, so I could see the graphical improvements. Did it with Cosplay Pikachu and won on my first attempt if I remember.

Only in my Wedlocke. I used my Linoone in a contest when I got there in that run, just for kicks. Other than that, i'm not too much a contest person.

Yes, I didn't really enjoy it though. But I kept the free Pikachu!☻

Yes I did pick up Alpha Sapphire the day it came out since I had preordered it

The reason I picked Alpha Sapphire over Omega Ruby was I had originally played Sapphire and wanted to play its remake

Since the theme of my team happened to be Star Wars Jedi, I gave my Mudkip the nickname Luke

Nope, I did not do it until after I attempted to first leave Slateport

Treecko was originally named James because my creativity had no limits but then it was changed, once he could mega-evolve, to Smaug and then finally, it came back to James. I mean really, have you even met anyone as creative as me? I'm terrible at names forgive me I tried

Yes! How could I not? Lisia was... very convincing ;)

I'll probably just play it once then move on to the main story like what I did for previous Pokemon games.

Unfortunately, no. This question actually reminded me that I still need to pick up OR again and check out the new contest system :P

Not at all. I waited after I had finished the Delta Episode to plan out Pokemon for the contest. I know have 5 different Pokemon specifically for contest.
Had to spend months in Amie, collecting berries and blending them to max out their individual contest, and searching for the right moves,
